Telmisartan impact on TRT

Are you currently taking Cialis? If not, ask your Doc to prescribe you 5mg daily. Besides the erection benefits, it's very good for the prostate and helps to lower BP. Also, ask for a prescription of low dose Doxazosin (1-2 mg). This is another multi-purpose drug that is great for prostate and BP.

The synergy between the drugs really helps to bring BP down and the other added benefits are a real plus.

hydrochlorothiazide is notorious for causing ED symptoms. Try natural diuretics instead:

Also, give Olmsartan a try (Benicar). This has been the absolute best BP drug I have tried. Zero side effects and very effective.
Thanks for the feedback. I do 5 mg cialis daily along with citruline 6 mg a day. I probably need to do 40 mg of Telmisartan and a low dose of another drug to bring my systolic down without tanking my diastolic

diuretics are very bad choices for BP. I've had lifelong BP issues and it has been stable lately. even on a T cycle (300-400mg/week) it does not go up. this is weight loss, workouts, diet as well as pharma ofc.
pharma wise, i settled on 40mg telmisartan, 5mg nebivolol, 5mg cialis. telmisartan is great but does not scale well in my exp and there is potential risks. nebivolol with telmi is the absolute perfect combo, and I was even surprised my mom was put on it (EU - very widespread combo/pill). the cialis doesn't do much for BP but it is a great addition

What risks with telmisartan?

My doc suggested that we try a full 80 milligrams a day of Telmisartan. I’ve been on this dose for 3 1/2 weeks, and it’s become clear that 80 is too much. I started out taking it in the morning, but after a few days, I just couldn’t handle how lightheaded and dizzy it was making me, so I switched to taking it in the evenings. For a little bit, I was good, but now after being on that dosage for a few weeks, it is dipping my diastolic BP too low. At 11 AM this morning, 15 hours after taking my daily dose, my diastolic was in the mid 60s on multiple readings. I was lightheaded and dizzy most of the day unless I was ingesting caffeine. I was struggling to drive to work and I am waiting to hear back from my doc, he was off today.

I know multiple people that do 40 mg of Telmisartan combined with 5 mg of amlodipine daily with good results. These people told me they had the same problem that I was having, that low doses of Telmisartan wouldn’t get their systolic pressure low enough, but high doses of it dropped their diastolic way too low. They said that the combo of the two at that dosage did the trick. I was wondering if anybody on here has use that or is using that dosage combo and how it works for them.

I did 80 and back to 40. 80 doesn't lower and is too high. amlodipine is absolute garbage. you need nevivolol 5mg. i switch to that combo. its good. Nitric OXide benefits from nebivolol

I used losartan plus amlodipine for years and the combo worked great. My LVH disappeared after a year, something I never thought possible.

Have you tried telmisartan 40 mg alone?
My doc bumped me down to 40mg for two weeks to see how my pressure stabilizes before any drug change. I started that on Thursday. Today my BP averaged 128/82 for three reading each 1-2 minutes apart.

Since starting BP meds back at the end of September, my erectile function has been in and out. Even though I’ve bumped down to only 40 mg, my rectal function has been nonexistent for the last week and a half. I’m still taking my 5 mg of daily Cialis, and 6 mg a day of citrulline seven weeks ago. I also bumped my weekly dosage of tea down to 84 mg from 100 my mood is improved, I’ve dropped a little body weight while maintaining muscle as well. My libido is pretty solid, but the erectile function is all off kilter.

I just got labs pulled Friday morning, as I was due. So hopefully I will get those back in the next couple of days and I’ll have an idea of where my blood level sit. I definitely feel better with a lower dosage. I will say I felt some anxiety creeping in the last couple weeks that I haven’t felt in a long time since I lowered my dose I completely ditched any AI I was taking. Dr Caulkins had me micro dosing.1/2 of a .0125 AI pill with each of my three weekly shots to keep high E in check and help libido and erections. It worked well for a while, but the effects started to go in and out over time. I didn’t feel I needed it with a lower dose, and I don’t want to take it unless I have to anyways for about 4 to 5 weeks. I felt good without taking any of it, but maybe my labs might show that my E crept back up even with a lower dose.

Either way, I hope I stabilize on 40 mg and don’t have to keep playing with blood pressure medications. Hopefully my body adjust in all areas here this week, and maybe my labs will show something as well.
