Very Low Ferritin with High Iron?

My Ferritin tested 5 weeks ago was 14. I donated blood a couple days ago so who knows what it is now. But my Iron was 140. A few years ago when I was donating blood every 3 months I had a Ferritin level of zero. I don't even know how thats possible but the lab said my Ferritin was undetectable.

The way I understand it, on a blood test Ferritin is stored or reserved Iron and actual Iron is whats in the blood at the moment.
If one has very low Ferritin but high blood Iron would this still cause symptoms?

I had the same issue. Low ferritin high iron. I have my on theory for that (just check my post about it). But in short this is what is called iron avidity which is something that people with hemochromatosis sometimes have. TRT can really lower hepcitin levels and I believe that this might cause iron avidity in some genetically predisposed people on TRT that donate blood often
