Localized hypertrophy at injection site?

There are no studies examining the possiblity of differential effects based on injection site, so data does not exist on this issue. It seems that there would be a localized gradient at the injection site/oil depot. With repeated injections this could conceivably result in more receptor stimulation near the injection site.
Has anyone noticed or heard of localized hypertrophy occurring disproportionately at the injection site, eg. deltoids, vastus lateralis, gluteus, etc?

I have been injecting on the same (right) shoulder for at least 7+ years every week. I have not noticed any difference in size when comparing both shoulders.

However, when I used to inject higher doses deep in my upper glutes/hip area years ago (along with nandrolone), I did notice increased hypertrophy in that area.

So, I think hypertrophy may be injection volume dependent in the long term.

The problem with the hypothesis is that testosterone esters such as cypionate are essentially inert, and you don't get pure testosterone until the testosterone ester interacts with enzymes that are predominantly in the bloodstream. This seems to rule out localized action, unless you're injecting pure testosterone in oil, sometimes called test base, or a water-based testosterone suspension.

I think Cataceous made good points above about how the compounds have to hit the bloodstream and get metabolized before activating and affecting tissues.

Another aspect is that various muscles have different densities with regard to androgen receptors. I think this may have possibly lead to the theory that injection sites can impact local muscle growth… because delts and traps have higher density. Plus they are more visible and progress is generally seen more quickly due to location and minimal fat in the area. But even with that being the case, obviously the main driver of growth is resistance training and the amount of receptors likely has a pretty modest impact on how they respond to training.
