More Than a Muscle Pump: The Surprising Science of the Nitric Oxide Stack

In the biohacking world, we often chase complex peptides or experimental compounds, but we frequently overlook the most fundamental currency of life: blood flow. In the quest for longevity, systemic vascular efficiency is the baseline upon which all other health markers are built. As we age, our ability to maintain vasodilatory capacity diminishes, impacting everything from cognitive sharpness to metabolic health. "Gene’s Nitric Oxide Stack," a protocol born and refined within the ExcelMale community, has emerged as a definitive solution for men seeking to optimize this system. This isn't just a gym supplement routine; it is a sophisticated approach to anti-aging that leverages amino acids and targeted pharmaceutical interventions to restore the body’s most vital delivery mechanism.

Beyond the Mirror: The Science of the Sustained Pump

For the average gym-goer, the "pump" is a transient aesthetic goal—a fleeting moment of muscle fullness. However, for a longevity specialist, a "harder pump" and increased vascularity are indicators of high-functioning endothelial health. The Nitric Oxide Stack is engineered to produce a state of vasodilation that doesn't simply vanish when you rack the weights.

By optimizing the nitric oxide signaling pathway, this protocol facilitates a sustained pump that carries through your daily life. This is a critical distinction: the visual vascularity is a proxy for your body’s ability to keep its "pipes" open. When you maintain that fullness hours after a workout, you are essentially providing proof of concept that your circulatory system is operating at peak efficiency, ensuring constant nutrient delivery to peripheral tissues.

The Foundation of Performance: Hard Science for Sexual Vitality

One of the most immediate benefits of systemic vasodilation is the restoration of sexual function. From a clinical perspective, erection quality is often the "canary in the coal mine" for cardiovascular health. Because the Nitric Oxide Stack focuses on the root physiological requirements of performance—blood flow and retention—it provides a robust alternative to temporary fixes.

A Serious Solution for Erection Quality and Duration

This stack addresses both the quality and the duration of erections with clinical precision. For men navigating the aging process, this is not a matter of vanity, but of maintaining vital physiological function. By ensuring the vascular system can respond effectively to neurological signals, the protocol allows for a level of performance that many mistakenly believe is lost to time.

The Ultimate Nootropic: Future-Proofing the Neocortex

Perhaps the most compelling argument for nitric oxide optimization is the "bodybuilder to brain health" pipeline. While most men start this stack for its physical benefits, they are unknowingly deploying a powerful shield against age-related cognitive decline. As we age, the micro-vasculature within the brain tends to narrow and tighten, a process that starves the brain of oxygen and is a primary driver of age-related dementia.

The stack acts as a nootropic by ensuring that the brain's smallest vessels remain dilated and resilient. This ensures that the neocortex and other critical regions receive a constant supply of the nutrients required for cognitive longevity. As the source material highlights:

"by increasing nitric oxide and getting that vascular dilation we're getting oxygen blood and nutrients in the areas of the brain that can provide us with a great anti-aging benefit in terms of neurological health."

The irony is profound: a protocol often associated with the bicep curl may actually be one of your most effective tools for protecting your mind.

Systemic Management: Blood Pressure and Prostate Function

The benefits of the stack extend into the deeper mechanics of men’s health, specifically regarding the relaxation of smooth muscle tissue. This is particularly relevant for Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH) and blood pressure management. Nitric oxide serves as a signal for these tissues to relax, directly easing the "inability to ease the problems" that typically characterize age-related prostate issues.

The secondary physiological advantages of this systemic relaxation include:

 • Vascular Tension Reduction: Significant support for maintaining healthy blood pressure levels by reducing resistance within the arterial walls.
 • Prostate Relief: Improvement in quality of life by relaxing the prostatic smooth muscle, easing the mechanical symptoms of BPH.
 • Reduced Cardiac Load: By improving systemic flow, the heart is not required to pump against the same level of resistance, preserving cardiovascular longevity.

The Future of Your Vascular Health

"Gene’s Nitric Oxide Stack" is far from a theoretical exercise; it is a "living protocol" backed by years of community peer-review within the ExcelMale community. The "enormously long" and widely viewed thread on ExcelMale.com serves as a testament to the real-world efficacy of this stack, offering a repository of shared experiences and optimization strategies.

This multi-front approach to anti-aging represents the best of biohacking: using fundamental biological pathways to solve complex aging problems. By focusing on the delivery system itself, we can protect our brains, our hearts, and our vitality simultaneously.

If blood flow is the delivery system for every nutrient your body needs, what happens to your longevity when you finally optimize that system?

Hello friends!

My name is Brandon and I am 37 years old.

First of all I have to say that I am very thankful for all the time and effort that you people invested in this thread. There is just so much valuable information here. Thanks a lot everybody!

I do however have a few questions. In particular because I am only looking at all this information for ED reasons. Yes, I have been to a few doctors. It seems that my blood, testosterone and overall health is alright. I do happen to have relatively high (or pre-high/high-normal) blood pressure though (around 135). I am also seeing someone for the the psychological aspect of this but that does not seem to be my major issue.

That means I am of course trying to eat healthy, get my sleep, reduce stress and hit the gym once or twice a week. But I am not in this for muscle growth, the pump or some sort of vascularity.

Having said that, I was wondering in which way to modify this stack according to my needs. In particular with regards to "The Dude" post below.

If you are working out in the gym, and you want to maximized Nitric Oxide during your workout, then taking both will do that. Otherwise, L-Citrulline is more effective (as stated above by Examine.com).

There are actually a lot of subtleties to the concept of increasing nitric oxide and blood flow, including:

* Below 40 years old and above 40 years old.
* Bodybuilding/weightlifting emphasis vs not so much
* Significant poor artery health and/or high blood pressure vs not
* Erectile Dysfunction vs not
* Diet including daily salads, fruits and vegetables vs not

1. How would you guys adjust this stack considering I am under 40, not bodybuilding, have high blood pressure, some pretty severe ED and following a moderatley healthy diet? Do you guys think there is any way of getting there without the Cialis (see 2.)?

Here is what I am going for right now:

Summary for 24 hours (1/2 in morning and 1/2 before bed)
#######################################################
5 mg Cialis
3600 mg L-Arginine
1400 mg Citrulline
180 mg Pycnogenol / Pinebark Extract

... and beet juice, pomegranate powder, omega-3 oil as well as many vitamins

2. Cialis (not generic ones, the original from Lilly and even at such low doses as 2.5mg per day) happens to induce some uncomely skin conditions (rosacea/acne) in my face and in particular on my nose. Is anybody else experienceing something like this? I also have that with Viagra but then it is even worse. Otherwise the tadalafil is very efficient. I was thinking about trying Cialis in liquid form or switching to Levitra but I am afraid that this has nothing to do with that as this is just the effect of the medication itself and my body reacting to it in places where it shouldn't. It seems that because it is taken orally there is just no way of telling the drug to only increase the width of only certain blood vessels, right?

Thanks a lot for any kind of advice.

P.S.: I have ordered some HGW (20% Icariin) and hope that it can help me replace the Tadalafil.

Best, Brandon

Same thing for me. I'm definitely not comfortable giving them that type of info.

I found this pharmacy online. They don't require a prescription, they say they accept credit cards and their prices look very reasonable. I haven't order from them yet, but will probably try them out.

Now you are going to order from some site no one has heard of just because they take CC's? Every one on here has been telling you the echeck option is safe myself included. ADC or Relaiblerx are cheap, legit and safe with echeck.

Gene, and others. The first I saw this thread many months back I started this stack

Nitruline From Vitamine store: ( 3G arg + 1G cit) 3-4 tabs usually 2 -3 daily
1500mg HGW vitamine store includes tribulus 3-4 tabs usually 2-3 x daily
Pycno same amount you suggested
Liquid Cia 3mg line 2-3 times daily

This was a radical improvement as I have mentioned in my earlier posts. After some Liquid ran out, I was off the the routine for a week or two. The next time on the same exact stack, the results were no where near the first few month or so. I am 53, very active, do strenuous stuff all the time so I don't feel any physical stuff. Last physical was 2 years ago, never been put on any colesterol meds. I was on High Blood pressure Norvast for years but strangely the stack and using POM juice daily seemed to fix the High Blood pressure, no meds for that in easily 9 months.

I have tried bumping up the Liquid cia to 6ml line, no big change. Still weak er. Last weekend I was with a girl, I found some real Cialis 20mg, I took 1 daily for 3 days straight in addition to stack, seems to help out quite a bit, but still not 100 confident.

Any suggestions on what to add? Simply increasing HGW, Liquid etc does not give obvious results. Thanks guys.

That's not a "dose", doses are in milligrams, etc.., you're stating a "volume" which isn't a dose.

Is it OK to mix L-Arginine powder with L-Citrulline powder in the same container? If so, any suggestions on what to mix them with to defuse the disgusting taste?

I mix the two all the time, one tip is that Citrulline tastes not as bad as Citrulline Malate 2:1. I take 5-6g of each and mix in 25oz of water, it doesn't taste great but I don't think it's too objectionable.

consider Agmatine Sulfate and delete the Arginine, which is really poor for NO production anyway. Having paired the Agmatine with Citrulline @ 5-7g in my preworkout drink I make, I'v ehad better pumps in the gym, and at least tiwce now, 7hrs after ingestion...I've been able to get the pole almost 100% WITHOUT ANY pharmaceutical help.

Impressive.

I've been thinking that I had a Nitric Oxide problem with my ED issues, 25 and even 50mg Viagra has been working really well but this Agmatine Sulfate...it's gotten my attention for sure.

Thanks for the report. When did you make this adjustment?

I like Agmatine as well and I am intrigued by your mixing it with Citrulline. I say that because several sites that I have visited say that it does not work well when mixed with either Arganine or Citrulline. I will try mixing it as I have some of each on hand.

My reading was not to mix with Argninine as they're just not synergistic or enhanced by each other which really centered more on the fact that Arg isn't a good NO catalyst anyway, but Citrulline was fine.
I need to really measure but I used 1/4tsp (750mg) once per day for 4 days, empty stomach. Even though I've been really emotionally stressed the last 5 days I've had great over nite erections, too.

I've been suffering with ED / low-T for over a year now. My question is this: how do you guys find out about these medications? Is it just via online forums / in person / through a Dr?
I live in the UK so I think the health system is quite different here than in the US. If anyone in the UK has advice it would be much appreciated.

Not the right place to ask this question, it's best to start a new thread. We do have many members from the UK.

I take 5-6g of each

http://www.gnc.com/Infinite-Labs-AGMATINE/product.jsp?productId=22948566#customer-reviews

I found this one that may be in stores near me, but it is one scoop = 750mg. I also bought some caps yesterday at vitamine shoppe

https://www.vitaminshoppe.com/p/oly...EgXLA5odXZWEJYuGL0YGa5j8dxtIwtTTrgaAt7l8P8HAQ

But these are 500mg. You said you are taking 5-6G each? That is a lot of pills or scoops. What did you buy?

After the first day of taking Citrulline 6G + 1000mg Agmatine tabs + pyc + 150mg icarrin + liquid cia twice during the day I noticed an obvious improvement in morning wood today.

6g arginine + 6g Citrulline combo in the same routine as above has been ineffective for many months now after it first was a miracle that lasted a few months. Varying the liquid cia has not been effective.

http://totalnutritionatlanta.com/product/neurovol-revolution/

In searching for a powder Agmatine Sulfate locally in Atlanta, I saw this product that includes:

Norvaline – Inhibits the breakdown of Nitric Oxide to keep more of it active in the system.

Anyone ever hear of Norvaline? Is it worth looking into? Certainly if there is a way to keep more NO in the body that is a good thing right.

I've never heard of norvaline, I did do a little research and found it interesting. I hope it's okay but I'm going to start a new thread and ask if anyone else has used it.

Do you guys think 5mg daily of Cialis would work ok instead of twice daily? I could only get insurance to cover 5mg daily. I know I can order online but rather just deal with what i can get local if it would still give me good benefit.
