I have been on 5 weeks of Test Prop @ 20mg/ed/SQ inject (140mg wk/total)... no AI... ** First 2 weeks I was using 25mg/ed as I wasn't sure how I was going to react to using SQ injects... I felt good so I dropped down to 20mg for the last 3 weeks.....

Received my blood work today... (Blood was drawn 24hrs/next day after injection) *labcorp
Total Test- 468 (198-679)
Free Test- 16.2 (6.8-21.5)
E2- 20 (20-53)
******My DR for some idiotic reason decided not to check SHBG....smdh I will be going to my wifes doctor and he said he will run tests that mine didn't... so I am getting SHBG and RT3 tested...

Previous to using Prop I was on Test Cyp 3xWk MWF @ 40mg (120mg wk/total) and the following was my blood work 24hrs after monday injection *labcorp
Total Test-643
Free Test- 23.3
E2- <20
SHBG- 21.10 (13.30-8.50)

I am a low SHBG guy....

I felt better libido and energy on Test Cyp, but I feel/and noticeably more stronger on Test Prop.

Doctor wants to increase Test Prop to 25mg or 30mg/ED due to my low SHBG as I did feel better using 25mg than I do on 20mg/ED...

Any Thoughts?

25mg ed test prop sounds like a logical move.

Shbg isn’t going to change too much over time.
I’ve had some tests where my total t was 715 and free t was 8.0. Shbg for me is always very high for me no matter what.

There are actually calculators out there where you can calculate free t or shbg based on other tests.

I wonder, are you getting the sensitive e2 tests?

Your doctor does not run the Estradiol Sensitive test even upon your request and does not test SHBG? He has shown he doesn't care about treating you properly and/or is uneducated testosterone therapy. Knowing what your Estradiol Sensitive and SHBG is critical to a proper protocol and treatment. You should not have to go to your wife's doctor to get the test you need. At some point you will realize that and look for better care.

You may want to consider testing your estradiol and shbg yourself, if your doctor continues to refuse to do so.

I agree with increasing to 25 mg, it make sense with your low numbers.

If you're getting your thyroid tested make sure you test your TSH, free T4, free T3, reverse T3 and antibodies.

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
