Jay not sure where you are in NorCal. I'm here as well and I did a lot of research and discovered two providers that were recommended: Dr. Paul Turek and Dr. Karron L. Power. I haven't worked with Dr. Power but Koshland pharmacy has a video of her doing a presentation on TRT therapy and she seemed pretty well informed.
I met with Dr. Turek as he is a fertility specialist and I wanted to get a sperm count done before starting TRT as well as bank. While speaking to him about fertility I mentioned my desire to use HCG to maintain fertility, which my endo wasn't on board with, and he was a proponent and wrote me a prescription for HCG.
Currently, like you I'm on 4 pumps of Androgel. I'm on week 3 and it's been nothing short of amazing for me, sorry to hear its not working for you. That being said in order to bring my care all under one knowledgeable expert I am thinking of transitioning to
Defy Medical. The only downside as others have noted is that they aren't under insurance and they use compounded pharmacies. Currently my endo who prescribed the Androgel is covered by insurance and the androgel only costs $5 to pick up at the local CVS. Dr. Turek had an initital consult cost which wasn't covered by insurance (most fertility related stuff for men isn't), which wasn't too much and is totally worth it to have your sperm count done, and then the HCG cost is $100 for a 10,000 IU bottle from MDR Pharamcy for the brand name Pregnyl.
Hope that's of help.
