Staying within natural ranges?

Testing peak vs trough, even with a trough in natural ranges, around 829, my peak is at about 1200. I know that technically this may be the top end of the old range, but naturally, most men never achieve this number, even with high shbg.

With my trough lower, around 650, my peak stays in range, reaching about 1000 (which is still higher than most natural guys). But I kind of lose the benefits of TRT, they only happen after the shots and disappear.

My doctor switched me to creams for a trial. Huge boost in energy, erections, etc. But it ruins my sleep and my energy in the morning is awful until my cream dose kicks in. It is likely putting me WAY above natural range, and then dropping to nearly hypnogonadal levels by the next morning.

Therefore, I think daily injections would make sense to stay in the upper end of the range without going over. Aside from my first year on TRT, I've never had much of a libido on cyp, and erections never great. However, maybe if I stay in natural ranges, my body will adjust to them and having a constant number of say 8-900, staying in range the entire week.

Has anyone with normal shbg here tried daily injections, and what was your experience?

I know that going over the range isnt inherently BAD, but I kind of like the idea of staying within what the body was naturally meant to accomodate.

As far as natural DHT, the range in labcorp is 30-85. My DHT on injections comes back at 60-63, should that be enough for a strong, youthful libido? The only thing I found to boost it was the cream, which puts me at least 2x over the reference range for DHT. Nobody should need that much for a youthful libido or strong erections, right?

Also, full disclosure about libido, I have not gone more than 3 weeks without porn since I was a teenager. Has anyone here quit porn and restored libido/sexual function and can share their experience?

With high SHBG note you don't give a number if you focus on TT like you do in your post it's more likely than not that you'll have problems when youre focus should be on FT. No with high or "normal" SHBG should have any need to go to even EOD injection schedules.
Note absence of SHBG, FT, E2 LC/MS/MS...impossible to advise on what problems you might have with so little meaningful information. Note that this forum works that way; lab tests.

My shbg is usually 35 with one or two occasional test showing it at 27 or 28. My e2 is 21 when my total t is 650, 27-30 when my total t is is in the mid 800s. Sensitive testing.

I don't see in the spread of your numbers SHBG 27-35 or E2 21-30 as really enough of a spread to have a large impact on anything.

I agree though should have said that management of levels from a peak instead of the trough has an interesting angle that I've put forth as an idea of Estrogen management/levels.

Are you suggesting a more drastic change in numbers could help? Maybe thats why the cream is working a little better? I'd much prefer shots though.

What was your application times with the cream that you were so high at one point and then so low prior to the next application? I wondered how far apart you were like more than 12hours etc etc

I started at 50 mg E3.5D and went up to 60 mg E3.5D, and while my lab values changed as one would expect, I can't say I felt any different (other than acne on my forehead at the higher dosage). Overall I feel better than before starting TRT, but I have no idea how to determine what is an optimal dosage for me. So I've decided to take a quasi-scientific approach to target my total and free T levels. I have 2 sons both around 30 yrs old, healthy and athletic. I asked them to get blood work, figuring that whatever their levels are now is a good target for me to aim for. And it will also establish a baseline for them as they get older and their natural production drops - something I wish I did when I was younger.

keep us posted what they come back at.

I was only doing once a day because it keeps me awake if I apply it a second time

You might want to try your normal dose of cream in the AM and a smaller (maybe half) dose in the PM. My buddy does that so he can sleep and it works well for him.

Also, another option you might want to consider is injections and cream. This might get you relatively stable TT and FT levels and give you the libido and energy you feel from cream.

I was on cream before and had crazy teenager libido. I'm on daily injections now and my libido is good (just nothing like on cream). My SHBG is 33 on 20mg test cyp subq daily.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did try this and I had trouble sleeping, and it was also really hard to plan around having the second dose available. Would you suggest daily injections? Why did you switch if you felt so good on the cream?

I kept getting a rash and bumps from the cream on my skin and all the treatments my doc gave me for them wouldn't resolve them. Also, I'm a poor absorber and I couldn't get my TT and FT levels as high as I (and my doc) wanted to on cream.

With a daily shot you'll have to probably shoot a lot of CYP to get your Free T to meet the lab range upper limits, like 25mg+
if i get my total t up 900-1000, my free t should be in the low 20s. That should only be around 16mg per day based on my response. am i missing anything? Is that too low?
