Gene I have a question. I finally got Doxazosin in and need to ask at what time do you take it? If I understand you take 1 mg in the morning and 1 at night is that correct? Also, how long does it take to work?

That's how it is prescribed for me. I take it along with 5 mg of Tadalafil as well.

Some men can respond to Doxazosin alone. I did not.

Here is an interesting study comparing high blood pressure medications and their effect on erectile function.

The link between high blood pressure and ED is complex because ED is a side-effect of certain medications prescribed for hypertension. This was best illustrated by the Treatment of Mild Hypertension Study (TOMHS) that included 557 hypertensive men aged 45-69 years. They received a placebo or one of five drugs: acebutolol, amlodipine, chlorthalidone, doxazosin or enalapril. Sexual function was assessed at baseline and annually during follow-up (48 months). At baseline, 14.4% of the men reported problems with sexual function. ED was positively related to age, systolic blood pressure and previous use of an anti-hypertensive agent.

This a-blocker is probably the anti-hypertensive with the best-documented beneficial effect on erectile function. In TOMHS, the incidence of ED was lowest in patients using doxazosin and highest in those on chlorthalidone (a thiazide-like diuretic). The disappearance of ED was greater in the doxazosin group (87.5%) than for all the other drugs combined (55%). However, this effect did not achieve statistical significance.

hi Gene, I looked up Doxazosin doesnt it do the same thing as Tadalafil? I am confused as to why you would need both.

I am learning so much reading all the good info on the site. Just love the clear honesty that is here.

To keep it simple; the alpha blocker relaxes the smooth muscle tissues in the penis while the PDE5i increases NO so combined it has a great effect on penis erection quality and vascularity.

Gene, I thought I would update on the NO stack. I started about a week ago just as you describe and today i woke up with an erection that I haven't had in the last 10 years. I will keep updating but anyone having erection problems should seriously consider this.

Glade to hear John; like I said, it has had the same effect for many men and it's super healthy for a man as well!

Great news BigJohn. I am getting the stack today less the alpha blocker and Tadalafil. I have to order the Tadalafil and SecureTabs only takes Visa :(. Hopefully I will have good results with those two missing.

SoCalSurfer, you will. I'm doing the same, like you no Cialis (I'm waiting for them from secure tabs) and I use Vasotec for my high blood pressure. It work super....just like Gene described

Hi guys! I am new to the forum and have followed this thread for a few days now. This is my first post so bare with me!... I am 46 years old and fairly active ( 5'-11"/185# lift weights and play basketball 3-4 days/wk) but am no serious bodybuilder. I am borderline high blood pressure and experiencing ED. Having read about the benefits before I have tried l-arganine and pycnogenol previously and after seeing this thread am now trying a reduced version of the stack mentioned.
I am only taking a 5g l-arganine/300mg l-citrulline/5000iu vitamin D powder in the morning around 10am then 2.5 or 5mg of Tedalifil in the evening along with regular vitamins (vitamin C, b-complex, omega 3 and Zinc) during the day. But after 4 or 5 days of the L-arganine I get a dizzy/panicked feeling and assume it is messing with my blood pressure? Is this common? Does it go away? Should I spread out the dosage of l-arganine? Thanks in advance for your advice and responses!!

It's hard to tell what's causing these symptoms.

Oral arginine at these doses are very safe and low/no symptoms...but we're all different and respond differently.

How long have you been taking the Tadalafil?

Hi Gene!.......I have been taking the Tadalafil for a little over a month (usually just 2.5mg daily) with very good success in the bedroom. I was just hoping to get an extra "boost" there as well as the high blood pressure, workout and over all health benefits that I have read about SO many times with l-arganine, Pycogenol and l-citrulline......maybe I should split the dosage into two smaller ones spread out during the day for a while? Maybe 5g/day was just too much for my body?.....what more can anyone tell me about Doxazosin?

Gentlemen,
This thread is epic and I love but …I can’t stress it enough!!! Please make sure if you are using any of these medications that they are used under a physician’s care.

@Keith Willse, that is my thinking (lowering blood pressure) but why? I am taking a very small amount compared to many? And I am borderline high blood pressure! (Usually in the 128/89 range) Maybe NO in my blood is not the problem? Can you have too much?......my doctor prescribed the Tadalafil and is aware of all supplements I take. I update him regularly. But when commenting about my vitamin/supplement regiment he says he has no "opinion" on l-arganine, pycnogenol or l-citrulline.... I am looking for a new doctor and/or Endo in my area that specializes more in these areas. But not easy to find.
(Sorry if everyone is tired of my lengthy posts already! But I have been frustrated for a while and have a lot of questions. And there seems to be a lot of good advice and experience here!)

If anything Tadalafil will lower BP but ever so slightly for most men at these dosage levels.

I have a hard time with the supplements causing it from my perspective.

Try eliminating the Tadalafil for a few days and see what happens...then add it back in and evaluate.

NO in the blood stream is normal and healthy and doesn't cause side effects at these levels that I am aware of.

If you can split the 2.5 mg pill into two; try taking one before bed and the other half 12 hours later both along with the amino acid stack.

2.5 mg is such a tiny dose, but who knows, you may be an over-responder.
