DHEA & PREGNENOLONE SUCCESS STORIES

Hi guys hope you are all well.

I have been on trt since 2021.(might of seen my threads)

1st time was absolutely amazing apart from a few hiccups along the way.

The 2nd time my body would just not let me tolerate the same dose that I was on before 125mg of sus250 and 250iu hcg 2x week.

Im currently on a low dose of 75mg of test enathate which puts me in the high normal but im getting no benefits from testosterone which is frustrating because I know what it can do.

Now from a different perspective I hear stories about pregnenolone & dhea and how they back fill hormones that could become low on trt. And I hear from 1 thread that pregnenolone is the missing piece of the puzzle that can make people tolerate higher doses of trt.

I am waiting on my pregnenolone test coming back from labs but wanted to show you 2 blood work samples below. 1 was when I first started and my dhea levels where higher then my most recent blood work.

Im just looking for some hope from people who have had success with both pregnenolone and dhea. And what is the optimum range for both.

Obviously its got to be something else if my testosterone is dialled in and im not getting the benefits from it.

Any input from you guys would be great thanks

From checking out the recent bloodwork, your Estradiol is low and odds are your free T may not be high enough. Your Total T is low as well.
Thanks for your response. The reason its low is that there was a delay in getting my testosterone delivered by a week. I normally run at high end of normal as shown below in my screen shot.

i dont feel any benefits what so ever from trt like I used to so it has to be something else thats causing it and im desperate to find it out.my dhea is lower for certain so im investigating the backfill pathways like pregnenolone and dhea to see if thats the problem

I do better with around 12.5 mg/ DHEA daily as part of my protocol. I don’t think it’s fix everything since you say you are getting no benefits from trt at the moment despite having good levels, but it would be worth incorporating to see if it makes anything better. As far as pregnenolone I don’t tolerate it well at all on trt. Before trt I could take 100 mg/day and be fine for weeks to months at a time. After starting trt, doses as low as 50 mg/day consistently make me feel a lot worse(no libido and worsened overall well-being) after just a few days. I suppose I could try even lower doses, but honestly I feel good on my current protocol and only ever added it because of its supposed health benefits and to see if it would improve my sleep. I rarely have sleep issues, but pregnenolone does help on that front…. But even without it the sleep issues always resolve on their own if I just give my body time to adjust to whatever may be disrupting them at the time.

Questions:

What was your prior dose and what benefits did you see?

What are the main benefits you’d like to see at the moment? What are your symptoms?

So when I first started trt i was on 125mg of sus250 every 5 days and also hcg 250iu 3 x a week. My motivation was through the roof, strength fitness everything I love doing like martial arts, cycling, hiking, pickleball etc.

Now im on 75mg split into 3 injections a week.that puts my levels high normal.

I would love to have my motivation back and get rid of my Anxiety and brain fog, low energy.Basically life feels like being stuck in the mud at the moment which sucks.

Have you tried adding HCG to your protocol?

In my opinion that’s the most logical place to start.

I Literally started it a week ago mate. Last time I was on it I had a bad experience so was apprehensive to go down that route again. I felt the high estrogen symptoms creep in over the last few days with low mood and being emotional . Im just waiting on my pregnenolone levels coming back this week so I think im going to use that as a starting point. Im certain its going to be low(praying it is) and then I can go from there.

1.) why do you think it’s high estrogen causing the problems? HCG doesn’t immediately restore testicular function/leyding cells so the difference in aromatization between last week and this week will almost certainly be non-existent or minimal at most. It’s possible the HCG is affecting your mood, but estrogen is not the culprit. It’s also possible that just riding it out for around 4-6 weeks would allow your body to adjust to the new variable and ease or erase the unwanted sides.

2.) if you decide to add pregnenolone I hope it helps, but you should probably temper expectations with regards to what it will accomplish as far as the effects you’re looking for are concerned.

3.) it’s also possible that you aren’t getting the effects because your earlier dose was so much higher. It may be as simple as just giving your body more time to adapt to the lower dose, but also understand that you aren’t going to get the same feeling from your current dose as you did from your previous.

It could be. But the question im trying to figure out is why cant i tolerate the dose i started out on?.Could it be that im deficient in pregnenolone. And also im on 75mg a week and that puts me on the high normal at 0.6nmol/l.. and still dont feel amazing like I used to so something is causing it and I just want to figure it out. Its such a complex puzzle and im determined to figure it out
