I'm on Test Prop @ 15mg ED SQ and Armour Thryoid 3 grains.

For the past 2 1/2 months, I have noticed my hair is rapidly thinning and dry, my beard/stache seems to be growing slower looking mildly sparcer and not as dark.... Energy, mood, libido and sleep sucks... I suspected high E possibly among possibilities.

Just got my labs back ....

Estradiol, by TMS

51.6 pg/mL

10.0 - 42.0 pg/mL

H

5 A DIHYDROTESTOSTERONE

652.3 pg/mL

106.0 - 719.0 pg/mL

Sex Hormone Binding Globulin

20 nmol/L

11 - 80 nmol/L

DHEA Sulfate

138.3 mcg/dL

24.0 - 690.0 mcg/dL

Testosterone, Free Male

149.0 pg/mL

47.0 - 244.0 pg/mL

Testosterone, Total Male

531.4 ng/dL

300.0 - 890.0 ng/dL

*Thyroid supplementation raises my SHBG to 20's from the chronic single digits induced by TRT and puts all my Lipids/Cholestrol in range(Lipid Panel has always been bad since on TRT). Pre-TRT my SHBG was 30-37 and Lipids were good. TRT definitely drives down my SHBG and destroys my lipids.

Since I'm low SHBG, does high E2 take a priority over DHT giving me the issues I described above?

-Regardless of what the Test/FT lab shows I have already reduced Test prop to 10mg ED SQ.
-started ADEX @ .25 @ 3 x WK (temporary) just to get E2 down and will reassess at new test dose.
-started Oral Preg 30mg in morning (trying to backfill pathways from TRT)
-started Oral DHEA 10mg at night (I am sensitive to DHEA, took 25 to 50mg in past drove E2 over 100, but it did put my DHEA to the 50-60% range)
-started Progesterone cream 20mg on head (thinning spots) 3 x wk (hoping it regulates DHT bring a little lower)

Maybe some aromatase inhibitor can help reduce E. I think low SHBG also contributes to the symptoms, so that High Free T is not always ideal in that case

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
