Unexpected Estrogen Spike

Hi,

When I started on TRT almost 6 weeks ago my doctor prescribed me 160mg of testcyp once a week plus 350iu HCG twice a week. My doctor also told me that since my sensitive estrogen was at 10 there was no need of a blocker. In week 5 I started getting anxiety, high BP (140/95 on av.) and no lbido (which went high in week 3-4). These were my results which I have shared before:

RBC 5.95 High x10E6/uL 4.14 - 5.80 01

Hemoglobin 17.8 High g/dL 12.6 - 17.7 01

Hematocrit 52.9 High % 37.5 - 51.0 01

Testosterone, Serum 692 ng/dL 348 - 1197

Free Testosterone(Direct) 31.6 High pg/mL 6.8 - 21.5

DHEA-Sulfate 388.9 High ug/dL 71.6 - 375.4

I just found out that my estrogen went high which is:

Estradiol, Sensitive 58.1 High pg/mL 8.0 - 35.0

Should it be a concern? I have called my doctor and waiting for an appointment but can I decrease it naturally? It seems that my body is acting fast on the medicine and very unexpectedly my estrogen spiked very soon or the doc started me on a high dose. Can lowering the dose (testcyp and hcg) lower estrogen?
Does high estrogen cause BP and all what I had?

My doc has reduced my dose to 120MG a week (I take it in two doses of 60) but I still inject 350iu of hcg twice per week.

By reducing your dose of testosterone and injecting it twice weekly you may well be on your way to solving the problem. Smaller, more frequent doses generally bring E2 into range. Do nothing else until you have given this protocol change a chance to work. Too many adjustments at one time make it impossible to determine what has and hasn't been of help. Be patient.

Agree with above; but you are symptomatic of elevated E2 so you may need a very low dose of anastrozole to bring E2 back into the 30's.

Splitting you injection into two lower doses may do the trick but only blood work will tell you the truth.

Also, you may want to give a pint of blood every 8 weeks as RBC and Hematocrit are a bit elevated...plus it's just good healthy thing to do anyways.

That E2 reading tells me why every other day you have an anxiety and drama based thread full of questions.

My E2 leaped to 55 when I was on an injection of 120mg once-per-week. Switching to 60mg/every 3.5 days dropped it over 20 points while maintaining a solid testosterone level. But I waited six weeks before testing. Patience is a key variable in this.

Thanks everyone. I basically didn't do much reading on all this before starting trt. Where should be my E2 for lbido to come back? once a week injection sky rocketed it, I think its the E2 that suppressed it again.
If I took an injection on Tuesday (night). Will FRiday morning make it 3.5 days?

Remember ipi, if that E2 value is 7 days after injection, as high as it is, it's had time to come down and would likely be much higher the first few days after injection. A small dose of AI was a huge help for me. As others have said, twice weekly injections of 60mg should significantly help. Gene commented about getting E2 in 30's. I feel best when I'm in teens/low 20's. What's right for you individually will come with experience. Tweak one thing at a time and be patient.

It takes a while to get "dialed in". I was very similar. We needed to continute to increase my Test Cyp weekls dose to get my T levels up.......I'm one of those high absorption rate guys. My weekly dose had started at 80mg/once a week. T levels only slightly went up, everything else was in check. We increased to 60mg/ twice a week, my T levels still had only increased to 579 in the second six weeks. We increased to 160mg / week of Test Cyp, split into two weekly doses. My T levels shot up nicely, I think in the 1100s, Free T at about 50, however E2 also spiked to 60. I avoided the use of the AI for the next 6 weeks, however honestly I was miserable. I was holding water in my feet and ankles, I got the puffy look (muscular but puffy), lethargic, low energy, BP was slightly elevated. Six weeks went by, all of my numbers looked great, but E2 was still sitting at 60. I sent Defy an email, told them I was willing to try the AI. My AI is the anastrozole and DIM mix capsule. It's .5mg of arimidex and I think 2500mg of DIM. I decided to make things easy and take the AI capsule on the same day as injection day (just to make things easy). I'm not kidding when I tell you my E2 symptoms almost "immediately" went away. Almost like magic, my ankles and feet swelling went away. My overall body puffiness went away. The lethargic anxiety feeling went away. I feel great right now. I'm getting labs done at the end of this month to see where the levels are because I absolutely feel great right now. This is my 7th month on the therapy, I decided to get labs done every 8 weeks during the first year just so that I can correlate how I feel as compared to the numbers. I did everything I could to avoid the AI, but I tell you when I finally decided to use it absolutely worked for me. Oh, I did get labs after two weeks on the AI, my E2 was at 39, total T was up to 1400 and Free T was a whopping 56. No wonder I feel great, right?

Thanks MUCH Guys, I am on HCG too so I don't know how much does it contribute to E2, I bet it does?. I did my blood work 2 days after the TestCYP injection and HCG was injected a day before the testcyp. I don't know if that was right. When is a good time to get blood work done, right after the injection or some other day? Since my dose is decreased from 80 mg twice per week to 60mg per week and continuing 350iu twice per week, when should I re-test? Thanks again guys, this place is a great help.....I am 46, what range of Ts should be good? BTW my BP went high too...
