Hey guys,
Just getting started. I am alternating left and right quad injections with a 27g 1/2" pin, upper outer quadrant. First couple times were virtually painless. This last time it stung a bit, I thought nothing of it, then later that evening my leg was pretty sore, nothing I can’t live with and no big deal, just curious if there is an explanation.

Thank you in advance.

I did not like quad injections at all. I went with outside the thigh, the deltoid, around the belly button etc. Quad injections particularly sucked when it was intramuscular.

Try deltoid injections - for whatever reason they don't seem to give post injection soreness like you can get in other locations.

The sting is most likely the alcohol wasn't dry that can make it sting. If you move the needle while injecting that can cause a bit of post soreness and there are also nerves so just try a different spot. I get the same thing sometimes not not always.
