Did you stay on testosterone during this period ?
I was out, no testosterone for me.

My doctor was not against, but he said that could cause side effects due to the testicular stimulation + testosterone.

I was just fine in the end, not optimum, but I survived :)

Totally worth, specially if you are investing a lot of money on IVF.

In case it helps anybody:

For European folks working with ampules and Ovitrelle, the most convenient way to inject HCG is to do what I have done for 5 years with excellent results, simply combine the HCG shot into the T shot (credit to Nelson for the original idea when I started TRT) by adding 1-2 drops from the HCG in Ovitrelle into the T shot syringe (the one you actually inject for a single time). This is best accomplished moving the contents of the original single-shot Ovitrelle syringe into an insulin syringe that shows you the milliliter amounts, and keeping that in the fridge.

Advantages:
1. No need to mix with bacteriostatic water
2. No extra holes / shots [ i.e. inject T + HCG together ]
3. No risk of infection due to re-use of the same syringe to inject yourself multiple times (wtf, don't re-use syringes!)
4. By far the absolute simplest way without unnecessary work

How I do it:
1. Put all the contents of the (useless, single-shot) Ovitrelle syringe into an insulin syringe, now you have a useful HCG syringe with marks (if not, get a better insulin syringe that shows you the amount)
2. Keep that HCG insulin syringe in the fridge [ from my reading, this is safe/effective for up to 60-90 days, I never had a problem ]. NOTE: I don't know if this makes a difference, but I also protect this syringe from light inside the fridge.
3. At T shot time: Put a few drops from the HCG syringe in the fridge into your T shot syringe
4. When you inject your T, you get HCG too, in the same shot & hole -why poke more holes than needed? :)-
NOTE: I preload ~3 months of T shots at a time, but only take the HCG out of the fridge to add the drops at the time of the shot, obviously :)
NOTE 2: When traveling, I don't use HCG as it requires refrigeration, instead just travel with T ampules + inject as needed.

re how to figure out the dose, this is the math I am rolling with:
6500 IUs -> 0.50ml (Full contents of an Ovitrelle syringe)
650 IUs -> 0.05ml
520 IUs -> 0.04ml
390 IUs -> 0.03ml

I answered this question a long time ago, there are a few more details there:

That's good if the pen is single shot, but at least in my country the ovitrelle pen has 25 clicks, around 260iu per click, so you could just use the pen for dispensing into your t-injection. Do you inject IM or subq?

Interesting!

Ovitrelle just changed the pen format, so maybe I can do what you say!
I was so pissed they changed it, as the "insulin syringe way" was what I did for 5 years and the new pens are way more cumbersome than the old ones to use.

So, I'll check when I get the next batch as "around 260iu per click" would be way more accurate than my current "manual approach" :).
Also, that would skip the step to "put it in the insulin syringe first", so even easier :)

I inject IM, rotating leg & delt locations, but probably this makes no difference.

I thought Ovitrelle is good at room temperature unless it has been mixed with bacteriostatic water, in which case it does need refrigeration.
I also thought that it can stay good in the fridge for a year or more?

Ovitrelle needs to be stored in fridge.
There is no need to mix it with anything.
Just buy 0.3 ml insulin syringes, and withdraw the desired dose directly from the pen as it were a vial.

Once the Ovitrelle pen is finished, I use it to store Testosterone cypionate from the ampoule, for microdosing. I have been doing that for years.

So if it is sent from one (hot) country to another hot country and kept out of the fridge for a week, I guess it would be useless, right?

It is supposed to be stored in the fridge but not frozen. Even while on transportation, temperature must be below 8ºC.
I don't know how long it could last at warmer temperature, but I would not take the risk.

I agree with the others, my understanding is:
1) It must be refrigerated
2) If unopened and refrigerated: The expiry date = whatever the box says
3) Once opened and refrigerated: safe/effective until 60 days, you may be able to push it until 90, but that's about the max.

If you travel anywhere: DON'T take the HCG, you will be fine. T will be enough for those days ;)

I used to preload 0.2 tenths (260 IU) in 3 tenths insulin syringes to be administered twice a week, with this, an ovitrelle pen would give me 25 doses, almost always more, about 27 doses, I keep the syringes in the refrigerator, and they last 3 months till the last one. I never noticed that they stopped working over time, everything has gone perfectly well.

Completely agree

I wonder if one were to transfer the contents of 6 or so Ovitrelle pens into a sealed sterile vial would the expiry date given on the pens still be applicable after the liquid has been transferred to the vial?

I don't know if the expiration date will still be valid. But I don't see why it would be necessary to transfer to a vial. I would keep each Pen separately and avoid tampering. On the other hand, the Pen is also a vial with its rubber cap, if it were so necessary to put all the content together in a single vial, I would put everything in only one Ovitrelle pen. Normally its content is 0.5 ml, but it fits much more. I, for example, usually put 2 ml of testosterone inside the ovitrelle pen and then take smaller doses.

Patients should store the pre-filled syringe refrigerated to allow the product to be used until the expiry date shown on the syringe or carton. The Ovidrel® PreFilled Syringe may be stored by the patient for no more than 30 days at room temperature (up to 25°C (77°F) but must be used within those 30 days.

What i was wondering is if you expose them to room temperature momentarily, let's say while traveling, is it still ok to put them back in the cold, i can not think of a reason not to.

I would put it back in the cold to avoid further degradation, but still would consider I have to use it within 30 days. That's just my thought.
