Estradiol (ECLIA) test worth?

Hi guys,

I find myself outside the US and wanted to check on my estradiol, I can only find an Estradiol ECLIA test here in Italy. I suspect my E2 is gong down. Would this test methodology give me an understanding if my E2 is on the low side, or it would be just better to get back in the US for the Sensitive LC/MS?

If you have elevated CRP or are one of those poor bastards who end up crushing their estradiol with the overuse of an AI then you would need to use/rely upon the most accurate assay LC/MS-MS or better yet CDC hosts standardized (LC/MS-MS).

I meant in regards to estrogen, sorry, should have specified. Was wondering why u told him not to worry if his E2 was low as long as his CRP looked good
Yes, you're correct. Do not worry about which E2 test you're using. If CRP is low.

Even though the ECLIA will be more accurate. It shouldn't make much of a difference.

There is no estrogen CRP ratio.

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
