Question! I’m on trt now (3 months) and it’s made a world of difference on my drive and physical activity. I am 45 workout and train and teach bjj.

I talked to my family Dr about trying trt for some issues I’ve had with drive. He wouldn’t do it said my testosterone was 400 and fine. So I went to a local clinic that specializes in full body health and improvement. He tested me and said my free testosterone was way low and started me down the trt path. And I am very grateful! I feel great my muscles now longer hurt working out my bjj training is doing great. I’m less injured as well from not being exhausted .

So to my question! The clinic does not take insurance at all. And as most know here it’s not cheap. If I have to pay I will it has changed my life for the better. But is or How do I find a Dr to prescribe trt so my insurance can kick in and be used??

Through my insurance it’s a very small cost.

Thank you for help in advance.

Most things in TRT you're going to have to out of pocket the costs, Defy Medical has the best price structure that I've found and the care is second to none. For insurance I only knew of LowTCenter that would file my insurance claims but they can't be recommended as the care and how they approach treatment is substandard.

Vince, thank you for your fast reply! Out of pocket cost is how I was thinking this was going to end. Thanks for the info I will look into Defy Medical and see what the cost is there in comparison. Have a great Friday!

The insurance companies won't give you TRT unless you score below 300 ng/dL. Ordering a total testosterone by itself is useless without other testing, sadly most doctors have not been trained in how to diagnose a testosterone deficiency, so doctors don't even know what tests to order or know how to interpret them.

Be glad you went private because there's a tradeoff to going to an insurance doctor, the majority have no idea what their doing.

Yeah from all that I’ve watched and read it’s says the same. I’ve never reached out in a community forum till now to be sure. Thank you!
