Changed from androgel to testosterone cipionate to protect daughters

My dr. Started me on androgel 1.62 percent 40.5mg daily just over 3 weeks ago. This started to make me feel better but since when im up to par me and my wife have an excellent sex life and I have young daughters . Im worried about them coming in contact with the test. . So I asked my dr. To change it and she gave me test cyp. 100mg .5 ml bi weekly. Is this dose similar to the dose of androgel I'm on? Feeling good and dont want to go backwards...

That dose or one lower than that (50 mg twice a week) of testosterone cypionate injections should work. Everyone is different so make sure you get your total and free testosterone checked along with CBC and CMP after at least 4 weeks to see where you are.

Transference of testosterone from a man's skin to daughters or wife is a real issue. Injections prevent that transference, you did the right thing. Another way to prevent it is to use products like Axiron applied on armpits.

100 mg bi-weekly(every other week) isn't a large dose. Nelson did you misinterpret bi-weekly for twice a week?

Getting complete hormone labs after 4 weeks when you are feeling good is a good idea. Include estrogen for sure! Did you doc not prescribe an AI just in case your e2 gets higher? Inquire with your Doc about hCG as well there are companies that support well established TRT protocols if you Doc doesn't. Keep in mind in TRT knowledge is power and that is worth spending the extra buck for.

If you were doing good on the gel you should have stayed on it until it stops working. If you apply the gel in correct areas it won't be an issue and dries very fast. However injections are much better in the long run.

Agree with going the injection route. Also agree .50cc x 2/wk is a good route. If you're doing it every 2 weeks, you're just going to be spinning your wheels. Half life is approx. 7 days, and you usually will see a peak value at around 2 to 3 days with cyp.
