I use Citrulline all the time, daily, mixed with Arginine and Citrulline, a mod of Gene's "stack" and then as my own home brewed preworkout...absolutely works as intended.
I started mixing citrulline Malate, beta alinine, creatine hci and bcaas before my morning workouts and honestly don’t feel a big difference in performance vs days I don’t supplement. Everyone responds differently though. I am on TRT as well

Why take it with water when you can just mix in a protein shake...or yogurt?

I use two heaping tsp a day, about 12 hours apart (CM 2:1)

I love the bitter taste of L-Citrulline-malate, I have learned over time that not everyone does. When I make my nitric oxide stack I always drink it on an empty stomach. Last year I stopped drinking my stack for 3 months and it really did hurt my workouts. When I went back to using it I really felt a difference, much improved endurance and strength. Maybe it's because of my age 63 and I need the increase of nitric oxide more than a younger man.

Interesting.
CM2:1 is pretty tart, so how does it impact the taste of yogurt or a shake?

I'm like Vince in that I love the taste. It makes everything tart and I look forward to it. My yogurt is plain and it would be pretty bland without it.

In a shake, it's the first thing I have every day and in yogurt, it's the last thing I eat at night. I put vegetables in my shakes and that CM really make spinach, kale and/or broccoli palatable.

Also, like Vince, I'm a bit older (53) and maybe I need it a little more than younger folks AND, similarly, I have gone off for a few weeks and noticed a marked difference in pumps/vascularity, erection quality and recovery time.

Vince also got me taking Norvaline which has increased the effectiveness (either on its own or in conjunction) with the CM. I was not sure the Norvaline was working so when I ran out a few months ago, I quit taking it (it's expensive). After a few days I felt "off", NO-wise. I ordered some more and I returned to pre-cessation levels. I will not take one without the other now. (I also use beta-alanine in the shake and take pycnogenol, plus a few other non-NO powders)

Unlike Vince, however, I do not take CM/Norvaline on an empty stomach. I really cannot think of a Rx (cialis, levitra, viagra, thyroid, cortisol, etc) or supplement that works for me better on an empty stomach (*shrugs*)

L-Citulline is by all regards, a highly stable and safe supplement. Unlike arginine and ornithine if taken at high doses of 10-15 grams per day, you would experience diarrhea. It synergistically works well and in unison with other supplements.
Studies have shown the positive results from exercise, weightlifting, erectile functions due to increasing vasodilation.
