How about health span extension?
Anti-aging term would make the site look really dumb. Really means accelerated aging or some other snake oil.

Health-span extension/compression of morbidity would be great.

The concept is what I was proposing, the name is open to debate. Health Span Extension sounds good! I'm not certain if you follow the activities of other testing facilities, But Thorne has recently acquired WellnessFX. WellnessFX offered specific testing for longevity biomarkers, now Thorne will be offering those. This would be a great opportunity for Discount Labs to offer the same longevity testing services ;)

I am currently reading Dr. Attia's book, "Outlive". Fascinating information.

I am not interested in snake oil, I am a serious proponent of quality of life. Of course living a good healthy life for as long as possible is also of interest to me. I started down this road 20 years ago. The science and actual clinical trials that are now happening are exciting developments!

We have the opportunity to have our own space to create a reputable place for quality content of the subject. I believe that would drive more traffic to the forum.
 
I am currently reading Dr. Attia's book, "Outlive". Fascinating information.

I finished Outlive a few weeks ago and "exercise more" was the overwhelming takeaway for me. That there is an actual effect of exercise on the rate of aging was revelatory, as well as the mechanisms for cancer prevention, that was some great new information for me. I picked up a used peloton bike to follow his prescriptions for zone 2 and zone 5 training, along with some hard-to-find size 14 cycling shoes with the clips and a heart rate strap. Really enjoying it so far.

We should start a thread on the book when the new subforum shows up.

I was going to reply with some crude congratulatory humor but instead will just say well done! Any plans to partake in the Iron or just the cardio/aerobic/lactate threshold training?

A word of caution on zone 5 training. I may have done too much of this a few years back and partially messed myself up [not sure since the timing overlaps with COVID/androgen (ab)use]. Or perhaps has nothing to do with it but I have some hunches. Just be careful as you get older. That is all I can say....moderation and all that which I don't know much about (mental problems).

Regarding compression of morbidity/health span...


1. Have the right parents
2. Exercise (some cardio and resistance training)
3. Eat less / not much
4. Sleep well (on the fence to use chemical assistance if you can't sleep well on your own)
5. Stay away from toxic people or be the most toxic person in your set (they seem to feed off the energy of the sheep/kind ones) - ok this last one is tongue-in-cheek.
6. Tobacco/alcohol/voluntary drug use - does not seem to matter if you have #1 covered.

Now compare with Getting Big....

1. Same
2. Same (less cardio for the muscular obesity win if you have #1 and lean)
3.feeding tube
4. Sleep all day since your job is to grow (have a find a benefactor since no job)
5. You literally are toxic from all the drugs (see #6l)
6. All the androgens/hgh/insulin you can handle and more (see #1)

Then there is some middle ground door #3 I guess. Would still like to see a human hybrid blending Ronnie Coleman and Ozzy Osbourne.

Also with the coming sarconpenia/osteopenia crisis I am waiting for the oxandrolone added to community drinking water.

I'm going to be lifting also. I just got my power rack and weights set up in the basement after moving. I'm less excited about that because whenever I lift consistently I tend to quickly plateau at a level that is still embarrassing in terms of strength and size. That was one of the things I was hoping TRT would change, and it did actually, even at doses in the 70-105 mg range. That was one of the few promised benefits that delivered 100%. Hoping I can replicate that success with enclomiphene while warding off the downsides of HPTA shutdown.

Awesome! 20 rep sets of "breathing" squats for the win! Really makes you feel alive when you approach death I have heard but I did not feel that way. Are you planning to try the androgen dark side as well after you develop your training base or just stick with the TRT?

I agree about squats. They're great for longevity. Help the brain and the body.



I slipped pretty bad at the pool last summer and had many years of practice falling on ice. Fell right on my butt / dorsogluteal area by quickly twisting and lowering my center of mass. The pool deck did not stand a chance and it grunted in agony.

I really don't know yet. I asked my wife if she would rather me be jacked with thinning / no hair or just be my current slim build with good hair and she said good hair was more important. Now I don't know if I trust her completely, because women don't always know or admit to what turns them on, and sometimes they have ulterior motives like not wanting you to outclass them and become a flight risk. Still, it gives me pause when I am already concerned about losing hair.

I may have tried a single shot of primobolan and seen some immediate hair loss that made me nervous.

Yeah I understand. When I first started TRT it thinned a little in front and I started to worry. But now it has stabilized. Great you are weighing priorities. Not everyone had a great looking skull. Have you shaved it prior just to see what you are working with?

I used to buzz it very short and I didn't look awful but I didn't look that great either. I've got some big ears and without hair it really accentuates how far they stick out.

I don't know if it's more risk tolerance or just assessing risk differently. I think taking an SSRI is more risky than small doses of jano-tested primo from an established, well regarded supplier.
