Overall a fairly complicated situation.I have been told that it's not the estrogen effects of estrone that are concerning, it's the metabolites that Estrone breaks down into: 2,4 and 16 hydroxyestrone. 2 is thought to be cancer protective and the others are pro-cancer. DIM is supposed to favorably alter the balance of those metabolites.
