Hello, I recently started taking cabergoline to help my RLS. I am on hormone therapy. The last few weeks I have noticed I felt pretty crappy. So I got my levels check and one thing I noticed was my my prolactin was undectable. Was wondering if I stop the cabergoline how long it will take for my prolactin to rebound. I have seen some people say that crashed prolactin is a good thing. But honestly, I feel like crap, no libido, no morning wood, if I start masturbating, I finish well before I get fully erect. It almost feels like crashed e2, even though my e2 was normal. So yeah, main question is, is how long for prolactin to recover. thanks

Ya every hormone is very important to keep in balance. We wouldn’t have a hormone if it wasn’t vital for our overall health and for our body and mind to function properly. I would say most men would do best with prolactin in the single digits tho. But obv everyone is different. I find I do best with prolactin in the single digits for sure

As far as when ur prolactin levels will bounce back, I would assume they’ll be fully restored to baseline after around 2 weeks. Caber has a relatively long half life for an oral at around 65 hours, which is almost 3 days. So after 5 half lives it will be almost fully out of ur system, which is around 13.5 days, aka about 2 weeks. But I’m sure u’ll start feeling better much sooner than that as ur prolactin levels start to increase. Assuming u stopped taking caber all together obviously
