I've been a member of this forum for several years. I rarely post, but do visit from time to time. People used to be able to disagree with each other respectfully, even when opposing views were on opposite ends of the spectrum. Over the last few months I've noticed a trend of folks bashing anyone that disagreed with them on certain topics. I just read a thread today where people were disagreeing, but posts were full of name calling and accusations of being shills for doctors.

Using phrases and words like "How much did that good doctor pay you to post that?" Rookie, Chump, PieHole, piss-poor, f***king, F***KING FRAUD, shit, delusional....all this in a single thread. Some of this was even from a "Super Moderator". When did this forum stoop to the level of generic steroid forums? I hope it stops. I know I can just stop coming to ExcelMale, and no one will miss me in the least, but this forum used to be a great resource for men that were just starting TRT. I can only hope it gets better.

I think it's funny when madman rants. It's tough love.

Plus, I've never seen him or any other mod threaten to suspend or ban anyone that they bash, and I think that's great. Free speech all around.

May be I just don't lurk enough but I haven't noticed any abuses. Still I think the rules should apply to everyone. We open up and talk about some really sensitive stuff round here. I'd be even further demolished if someone bashed me for opening up about my deepest darkest fears or problems.

You want free speech go stand on a corner in public and protest for free speech but follow the rules in this private forum.

No gets roasted for honest questions, nor for fears and problems. Maybe you should read around some more before chiming in about something like this, new member.

But of course, that's just a suggestion, as you have the right to speak freely.

As I stated, I have not seen it either, we are in agreement. But just because you or I haven't witnessed it first hand means everyone follows the rules then? OP literally stated that he's seen exactly what you are saying doesn't happen. Vince posted a great reminder and remedy if such nonsense is witnessed.

Odd, it would appear that I joined about 6 years prior to you. Inferring that new members somehow aren't qualified to respond or that I know not what I am talking about because my avatar says New Member is a pretty weak way of calling me a rooky.

Did you read Vince's post at all? I think in your effort to speak quickly, you completely missed the point. You absolutely do not have the right to free speech in a private forum with rules specifically outlining allowable speech. I think Abraham Lincoln probably summed it up best when he said "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

Hi, Jon. I so understand you! It makes me very sad when I see such hateful comments from people. Do people really have no trust and simple respect? I really hope that this is not the case and I believe in universal adequacy.

I don't think it's funny. It's poor leadership, doesn't add value, and violates the principle stated by one of the great philosophers as "never forget that you just might wind up being wrong."

The only furor I see from madman (and one of the other mods) is directed towards a member or two who continuously challenge studies/research with anectdotal "evidence". At first I was put off by his replies. I changed my mind, when I realized that as much displeasure as those members' posts bring madman, he never deletes them nor threatens any mod action. That is what I was talking about with free speech. The mods allow differing points of view. As far as his replies in general, madman uses colorful language but I've never seen him insult anyone.

New members have just as much right to post as anyone else. That's why I said you have the right.

That quote is incorrectly attributed to Lincoln.

I addressed your points, rather than just make a blanket statement, so hopefully this post won't be shadow deleted like my prior two. If it is, then this forum is the opposite of what I've been saying it is.
