Hi I'm a new here and I need some advice.
My friend and I are following a losing weight training and we do work out every morning together at my friend's house.
She told me that I just needed to drink water before training and then breakfast after working out.
I don't know about her but for me, to start a training day with only water seems not very enough. During the exercise I feel like exhausted and not supplied enough nutritions.
She told me not to drink any thing during the exercise except pure water.. but I just can't take it..
I need more advice for this. Can I make smoothies or another juice before working out?

Learn about fast and slow digesting proteins such as casein, whey, bone broth, egg whites. I'm no expert on body building. The right fuel (whole unprocessed food) and drinking plenty of water are likely the most important things to consume. An understanding anabolism catobolism is key. Consume aminos, BCAA, complex carbs and health fats at the right time of day. Upon rising, pre-workout , post work out and at bed time. Commercial products are unnecessary. Try a shaker and a few pure bulk powders. Nelson has posted great stickies on clean nutrition including menus. Supplementation seems more important as we age. We tend to get less efficient at absorption.

I use Amino Energy from Optimum Nutrition: add in My own Citrulline Malate and Arginine powder as their proprietary blend % is unknown. Will use as is for afternoon/evening pick-me-up, too. Commercial products are unnecessary, but this one is a decent all-in-one.

Thanks for posting your favorite Formula364. Choices such as these are highly personal. People gravitate to these products for convenience and taste. By weight it's mostly taurine , glutamine, malic acid, flow agent, stabilzers ect. It has sucralose and other stuff many would prefer not to consume.

Cost: 15 servings @ 4 scoops yields "10g of aminos" as listed on their site for $25. Glutamine is about $6/lb. The aminos in this product cost only pennies. They can be purchased cheaply and added to whey or taken on their own. That's a steep premium for minor convenience. There is some evidence that taking Leucine or BCAA first thing in the morning is best.

Caffeine: I was going to mention caffeine and green tea in my initial reply. Those have proven workout and weight loss benefits in moderation.

I do suggest that folks try bulk powders at least once.

I totally agree on taste and convenience.
If one looks around, one could get one for 18.99 and second for half price. Throw in a promo code, and that convenience is attractive. My last order was a BOGO plus promo code.
I do use the bulks, as well.
I also use an ISO Bag with meal prep. I'll take the convenience on my lower priority items. Everyone has to find their own way.
