As far as Fasting. Depending on how long. Won't that lower T levels more. My guess is he wants to see your low point, but then he has you before 11am. So I'm not sure there.

Are you needing insurance to cover it?

Mine blamed my Marriage and suggested to look at porn to raise T level, No joke. After I meet with dumb doc I was lost for 4yrs before looking back into TRT.

Yes, trying to get blood work covered through my insurance which generally covers blood work 100%. My plan is eventually to go to Defy with all the blood test results and consider having them handle TRT.

I am getting ready to go back to Urologist for my follow-up to go over my blood test results. Just before I am about to leave I get alert from Quest that my results are available to view. I am surprised and confused by the findings since it shows my Total Test the highest it has been in years. Each year when I get Total test done it has been in the 300 range except this year when it came back at 260. Three weeks later I get another blood draw and it shows 544. Results are below:

FSH: 6.5 the range is 1.6 - 8.0 miu/ml
LH: 3.2, range is 1.5 - 9.3 miu/ml
Prolactin: 4.9, range 2.0 - 18.0 ng/ml
Estradiol: 19, range < or = 39 pg/dl
Total T: 544, range 250 - 1100 ng/dl
Free T: 84.9, range 35.0 - 155 pg/ml

Blood work was taken on a fast at 9:30 AM.

What are your thoughts on my blood work?

With these results, you definitely don't need TRT. If you continue doing the right things.

I agree and have mixed feelings. One on hand glad about the results but on the other why the heck am I having the symptoms I described in my original post in this thread. Doc said it could be mild depression. I do question the blood tests results because my T has never been so high. I wonder if it is a lab error.

In 2011, Total T was 377 with Free T 43.4
In 2013, Total T was 390, they did not run Free T
In 2015, Total T was 354, they did not run Free T

All of the above was with fasting.

Now several weeks ago (not fasted) my Total T came back at 266.

Now my latest test, my numbers are the highest they have ever been in last 5 years.

looking at your labs you still might benefit from a clomid restart protocol

The Nurse at the Urologist office said he could put me on Clomid to try to push T up higher but felt it was really not necessary considering my numbers. I agreed with him that it appeared unnecessary at this time. He suggested I come back in 6 months if I am not feeling any better and they will run Total and Free T again.

No, symptoms are the same.
Other than a lab mistake, there could be other reasons for the change.
Stress can have a huge effect on testosterone levels, I wonder if your recent level is transitory and currently higher related to less stress, because you felt like things were on the right path?
I have mentioned my experience from a few years before I got on TRT, I changed diet to Paleo, and my 300's - 400's TT level jumped to high 500's, but only lasted a few months, but no changes in how I felt ever occured.

Yes, I have been under stress lately but have been working out for about 6 months and eating right. Actually stress level is higher at the time of the second test in which my T came back at 544.

1.84 is pretty normal or standard. Further tests might not be called for, but would be nice to reference a baseline in the future. T3, T4, rT3, and antibodies.

They did TSH a few weeks ago and it cam back normal.

Your use of the word normal, is Doctor talk, for within normal limits. However, the group of men being tested , is usually sick, and not a healthy group of men. Hence for the need for you to give the results and the lab range, and then the guys here will discuss "Optimal" lab levels. Reading thru the posts, you will read of men told by their MDs that a 300 TT (total Testosterone) is WNL (within Normal Limits). Don't allow yourself to be grouped with 75 year old diabetics with COPD or CHF.
