Vitaros

Anyone here about any progress on FDA approval or on sale anywhere world wide?

It was approved in Canada an supposed to be on market this year.....but as far as I know it is still not on market in Canada yet.

Anyone know anything more? This looks like it could be a awesome answer to ED as it gives the results of Trimix without the needle.

Hoping it hits market soon

It's due to be launched in Canada next month, and launched in the UK in January 2014. Other European countries to follow.

Warner Chilcott have the rights to make and supply this in the US, but they seem to be a bit quiet on the subject. They're probably waiting to see how successful Vitaros is in Canada and Europe.

I know two doctors who'll be involved in the UK launch, and think it may be more effective than Muse, but not as effective as Caverject or TriMix. However two clinical trials have shown Vitaros to be of reasonable effect in only 50% of men, and average increases in IIEF-EF score of only around 2.5. So, not terribly encouraging.

Thanks for the update......interested if it might be a good mid-point between Viagra and Trimix

Do you know if you are an American can you see a Doc in Canada (paying cash no insurance) and get a script to be filled at a Canadian pharmacy?

The increases in IIEF-EF score with Viagra, in clinical trials, were usually in the 10-12 range. Caverject (which I've not tried) is supposed to be more effective still. The 2.5 average increase in score for Vitaros seems unimpressive. (Though oddly, with both Vitaros clinical trials, the placebo group dropped in score. Placebo groups usually increase by 2 or 3 points.)

Those with fewest risk factors benefitted most in these trials. Those whose problem is psychogenic would most benefit from Vitaros as there are no plumbing issues to overcome and, at least in theory, the erection is automatic, so (lack of) dopamine response is less of an issue.

I'm based in England. Here we have a 'named patient' system whereby unlicensed drugs can be imported for that patient. The alternative is to go online to a Far East pharmacy and order without a prescription. I use United Phamacies, and find them honest and reliable. (Only problem is that Vitaros needs to be kept refrigerated, and starts to lose effect after three days at room temperature.) A long weekend break in London might be the solution.
