I started taking Grapeseed Oil TRT in Sept. ‘26 taking 1ml a week into my glutes. Everything was going well until December when I developed quite a large bump that developed to the left of my injection site. It got pretty big, red and enlarged and I ended up in the ER with them giving me a bag of Vincomycin and sent me home with two different antibiotics since that developed into cephalitis.
My doc switched me from Grapeseed oil to MCT Oil and used that in the right glute for a few weeks (was afraid to go back to the left because of the infection) and then developed another lump that started to grow in size and get firmer. Again this was not at the injection site but a little lower. I went to urgent care and the prescribed antibiotics and it went away.
I then switched needles from the 23g 1 1/2” to the 27g 1/2” for use in my outer quads. Even though my quads could get pretty sore from injecting there this seemed like the better injection spot.
I started reading about injecting in the shoulders and after the third time I developed a big lump about 4-5 inches below the injection site from my right shoulder. Again I went back to the urgent care and I went back onto antibiotics.
Now I went back to my quads and just this time past Sunday I noticed a lump just north of my knee but significantly far away from the injection site (about half way up from my knee).
So now I’m back on antibiotics as this is growing in size as well.
I think my days of using TRT are done unless someone can tell me what is going on?
Do I have an autoimmune issue where my body is attacking the TRT?
My TRT provider has never seen anything like this so I’m at a loss as what’s my next step.
Any direction/info would Pulsd be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Shane
