TRT: 70 Years Old, Protocol Problems

I'm over 70 and had Low T since a motorcycle accident in my mid 20s.
In the months after the accident my right testicle atrophied to the size of a small peanut while the remaining seemed to produce enough testo to maintain me as masculine, my sex life
and performance continued to be high as before the accident. My Dr performs periodic blood tests and my Free Testo dropped to a fluctuating level between 5.x to 6.9 and Total Testo was below 200 before TRT applying Testim gel and Androgel via pump applicator.

My Prostate was monitored by testing PSA until I reached 70 and PSA was always in the norm except one test, but returned to the norm in subsequent tests. Due to expense of using the Testo in a pump, my Dr suggested I switch to Testo injections and I'm in the process of switching now.

I'm ok with maintaining Testo injections
permanently but have questions about the rapidly of returning to high performance as with gel prior to starting injections?

I started injections of 250 per week and after two or three weeks with no noticeable improvements to general stamina feeling and no return to a strong libido, I upped the injections to
500/week, 250 on Tue & 250 Fri, I'll be starting Med therapy to block effects of increased Estrogen, namely Meds as follows:
1. Fempro 2.5mg Letrozole 1X10 CIPLA $2.50 USD X 20 = $50 USD
each pill scored to split
2. FEMISTRA 1 MG Anastrozole(1 mg) 1X10 Zydus Cadila $8.00 USD X 10=$80 USD each pill scored to split

Is this Estrogen blocker what I need to regain my expected regular daily stamina and strong libido ?

With all due respect, you aren't on a TRT protocol, you're on a steroid cycle. Two hundred milligrams of testosterone increased to five hundred milligrams of testosterone a week...that adjustment made after less than four weeks...a wild-eyed use of AIs...not a single lab value posted. Everything you are doing is contributing to your failure to receive the benefits of testosterone injections. Your doctor has done you no service whatsoever - this is going to come to no good end.

Smaller, more frequent doses of testosterone have been proven to deliver solid levels, frequently without the need of an AI. Fifty to eighty milligrams of testosterone in divided doses over the course of the week is a good starting protocol. If your estradiol wasn't elevated when you initiated the protocol, it's not necessary to start with an AI. Serum levels take at least four weeks to balance, six weeks is more reasonable, then you get tests. No change, not a single change, during those four to six weeks.

Please - reconsider what you're doing. While you're thinking this over, find a new doctor. We can offer referrals if that's necessary.

CW, is making some very good points. Like CW states, a good starting does of testosterone is 50mg every 3 1/2 days. I would also consider using HCG, to help your libido and keep your one testicle full.

Listen to CW, you're on a doomed course with that protocol!!! Also, Letro is a suicide inhibitor, extremely potent, and will crash you hard into the tank if misused! I would really suggest getting familiar with these compounds and understand the consequences when administered improperly. This forum is loaded with anything and everything related to HRT.

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
