Switch from Androgel to Compounded Cream

I have been using Androgel 1.62% (3 - 2.5 g packets/day). My levels were pretty good (~600-650). Due to my insurance, it is now cost prohibative ($500/mo). Alternative name brands and generic gels were not much less, so I went to compounded cream (200mg/ml; 0.75ml/day). I have been applying it on my forearms or inner thighs. It has only been less than 2 weeks, but I know my T levels are no where near where they were on Androgel. I get tested tomorrow, but I want understand if there is an adjustment period when switching over like I did also should I try other methods of applying the cream that would let it be better absorbed?

Thanks in advance for the help.

That's a real stretch of a conclusion, yes it's not quite the same and you'll need some adjustment time. When you have your blood tested apply as usual in the AM appx 2hrs from your blood draw and do NOT apply to the arm you're going to have blood drawn from me.
