Hey Guys
I’ve posted before about some of my issues since starting TRT, and I’ve gotten some really good feedback from some of you that has helped tremendously. Since starting therapy 14 months ago, two big issues I’ve dealt with are increased blood pressure and libido and erection issues I’ve been on 40 mg Telmisartan for about 10 months. I’ve played around with bumping it up to 80 a few times when my BP was not controlled, and also having a diuretic with it. 80 mg was making me dizzy so we bumped back down to 40, and the diuretic was giving me a erection issuesso I dumped it. The diuretic wasn’t helping anyways.
I inject 84ml a week spread over three shots. My dose is low, but my last free tea trough was at around 21 I thought about possibly dropping down a little lower to see if that helps, or may just be that my blood pressure is always going to be elevated no matter what dosage of testosterone I inject.
My sleep was horrible, and didn’t improve on TRT. I finally got a sleep study done in April, and was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea. 21.1 AHI. I have been on CPAP for about five weeks now, and last week it seemed like my BP was starting to drop throughout the day. My morning readings are between 115 and 123/68 to 72. My mid afternoon readings were in the mid 120s over mid 70s. My BP has been yo-yoing up and down the past two weeks, and the last three days hasn’t been as good in the morning, and has been getting high during the day. I I am getting readings in the low 140s over high 80s in the early in mid afternoon.
Another interesting thing is that my libido and erections have gone into the tank the last two weeks, even with my BP doing well on days. When I started CPAP therapy, my sleep was crap at my BP was high, but erections and libido were actually doing well. My AHI is below five every night, and most nights it is below three. However, I’m not really sleeping any better, as I’m waking up multiple times at night still. Most days I am feeling more rested, however.
Looking for how guys for people that had high blood pressure, started CPAP and how long it took for them to see their BP drop permanently. I researched and it seems like this yo-yo effect is kind of common, but it’s very extreme for me right now. Also wondering how anyone did with erection functional and libido once starting CPAP. I gave blood twice in the last 14 months, with the last one being at the end of January that always helps my BP drop, but it’s not permanent. My iron got borderline low last time, so I’m not looking to really give blood again. I’ve had my hematocrit checked since March, and it was a little over 48 then I don’t think I need to go back down that road unless absolutely necessary I may also try bumping my Telmisartan dose back up to 80 if my BP stays high.
I appreciate any feedback from you guys that have CPAP usage, and how well it worked on BP and other issues. I looked through some of the old threads and found a little bit, but they were old. As always, look forward to hearing some of you guys have to say.
