Starting with 30mg of Test Cypionate a week?

I am new to the forum and have just started TRT. I am 37 andhave had for a while. My mostrecent labs were

Total Test 383

Free Test 6.9

Biovable Test 162.4

Luteinizing Hormone 5.63

Estradiol 23.1

Estrone 97

My symptoms are brain fog, depression, inability to focus, ect. I have been taking 1000mg of HCG twice a week for about 6weeks and have not noticed any improvements in my symptoms. My doctor told me that the HCG may not be effective because my LH levels are good, but since I am 37 I wanted to try HCG first.

My doctor is now starting me on 30mg of testosterone cypionate once a week and 500mg of HCG twice a week. He wants me to take HCG for 6 weeks and then take 2 weeks off. He also has me taking saw palmetto, cooper, zinc and Chrysin.

Based on what I have read, 30mg is a very low dose. Is that a good starting dose? I don't want to overdo it, but I want to start feeling better. My doctor is skeptical about taking HCG to preserve fertility but is okay with me taking it. He also seems skeptical of Biweekly vs weekly injections. Am I wasting my time with this doctor? I am thinking of switching to Defy or another local Doctor recommended by this site. Should I stick it out with this doctor? It would be a pain starting over with someone else. I am getting my test levels retested in a month. He wants to me to take a Saliva test instead of a blood test.

Thanks

egghead, you need a "new doctor".

unfortunately, yes.

a basic starting dose is 100 per week, usually 50mg 2x a week is where to start. And HCG on a 6 week cycle? No. If you're doing self-inj you can work it on your own (dosing and frequency) and sure starting over with another clinic is a pain, but this Dr isn't doing you any favors and the change to a place like Defy, would be worth the effort.

Thanks everyone. I made an appointment with another doctor for Thursday. I am getting the test cypinate today. Should I even bother with 30 mg injection?

My 2-cents, no on the 30 mg dose.

A starting dose is normally 100 mg a week, so you could do two 50 mg shots per week, spaced 3.5 days. Say Monday morning, Thursday evening as an example.

Egghead - At 30 mg per week, it's possible your total test will actually be lower than it would be if you were not taking endogenous test at all.

Very true. You'll shut down your own endogenous production, but not inject sufficient exogenous testosterone to do a thing. As for the HCG, you don't cycle it on/off.
