Start an AI without symptoms?

Hey guys. I'm starting with Defy in a week or two, but currently at an anti-aging clinic. About a month ago I started on 100mg/week test cyp, 250iu HCG/week. I feel great. I have no symptoms of high estrogen at this point.

I just got some blood work back and will post later, but for now my question is very general: ought a person that lacks symptoms start on an AI? I haven't gotten my numbers yet, but when I called to inquire, they told me my "estrogen was a little high, so we're adding anastrazole once a week." I understand you guys really need/want to know that number before commenting, but I wanted to get some thoughts before I walk in there (and at worst, I just won't take it and will go with Defy's recommendations in a couple weeks - but I also enjoy learning from you guys). I got labs a couple weeks ago from Defy that had my Senstitive Estradiol at 20.8 [8.0-35.0].

From everything I've read, I am most skeptical to begin an AI/anastrazole. Thanks for your thoughts!

My opinion, treat the symptoms, not the number. I'd wait until you speak with Defy. My E2 Sensitive is 35.3 and I do not take an AI because I have no symptoms of high E2.

I agree. Wait for your consult with Defy. If no symptoms then don't take the risk of the mess that an AI can potentially bring you. My personal experience is that high estradiol symptoms are usually milder and more tolerable than low estradiol. Low E2 can mess you up big time! At 20.8 you're not high and since you're not symptomatic there's no reason to risk a setback before your consult.

I agree, don't take an AI without symptoms. I've been on trt for almost 4 years now, never needed an AI

You'd just be asking for the world to come crashing down on you if you start an AI without a need.

Low e2 is no joke, It was the most miserable time of my life.

Agreed. E2 of 20.8 by the numbers is no reason to take an AI. It is in pretty perfect numerical range, though some would argue may even be a little low depending on your Total and Free T levels.

Thanks for all the responses, guys.

So my Estradiol (NOT using sensitive method) went from 20.5 to 34.9 [7.6 - 42.6] in the month+ of my TRT regimen. I didn't say anything to the T clinic when they gave me the anastrazole. I'm just not going to take it (also, the clinician wrongly told me the upper range was 35 when he was talking about the jump my estradiol made). I have a consult with Defy on Wednesday.

I'm fine with having a need to take an AI. But without symptoms, and without levels that are extremely high on my blood work, I just don't understand the need.

He's just confused or ill informed..........the upper range is 35.0 on the LabCorp Estradiol Sensitive range (8.0 - 35.0 pg/ml). In almost all cases, the non-sensitive E2 test is much higher than the Estradiol Sensitive test. So if you are 34.9 on the non-sensitive test you are going to be quite a bit lower on the sensitive test. On my last labs, I was 91.0 on the non-sensitive E2 test and was 35.3 on the sensitive test. Huge difference.

You're smart to hold off until you speak with Defy and then only take an AI if you have real symptoms. I am over the LabCorp range of 35, just barely, but I take no AI and have no symptoms.
