Hi,

I have blurry vision in left eye and my eyes are very sensitive to light since on TRT. My left eye has weakened and need glasses now.

In my life time I got flashes in my eyes but just 5 times in my life time nothing in last 15 years but I got them 3 times in last one week.

I had high estrogen but have reduced my dose to 40 mg three times a week (EOD) and 200iu of HCG on the day of injection (also EOD). No AI yet but dr Saya prescribed 0.15 anastrazole once a week, not started yet. Want to test once to see if changing the dose helps.

How old are you? Floaters we all get.... Comes with age:) Flashes... Now that can be something else... May want to go to an Ophthalmologist (Eye DR.) That can be retina issues. Again... Sorta comes with age (I speak with knowledge on that one)... If issues with the retina, or other things, it can be taken care of easy.... BUT you would not want to drag out making a visit ASAP. When was your last eye exam?

Not every medical issue that arises during the course of TRT can be attributed to your testosterone protocol.

That said, you would be wise to schedule an appointment with an eye doctor quickly. Be certain you advise him/her as to all the medications you are taking.

I am 46. I had floaters from before so that not an issue. I also had flashing 5 times in my life time but now I get it more frequently. I had an appointment about 2 weeks ago and the eye doctor dialated me giving me a thumbs up. This was a week before I got the flashing....

Mood is still down, BP Is still slightly elevate and I think it has something to do with flashing as I may be getting high BP spikes. Dr says asked me to reduce HCG dose for 350iu twice a week to 200 iu EOD and asked me to take more frequent TestCYp with of course a small dose 0.15 mg of AI once a week. I also have very low Ferratin which will cause donating blood an issue as my H and H are already on he border line after the first donation about 6 weeks ago. Body aches etc. Man I want this to work but it's dragging me and I have low mood. I had my third more frequeant TestCYp and HCG injection today and after the 4th I will check if my estrogen is low, but I don't feel like it.

Nelson you must be kidding me. Does it stay for ever or can go away once you stop.

Retinopathy caused by TRT is rare and can be treated. If you just saw your eye doctor two weeks ago, and received a clean bill of health, you are probably not at risk. However, please contact your ophthalmologist and put your mind at ease. We can't diagnose you.

ipi-I have been back on T for 12 weeks now and since have had the same thing occur.
Then on November 2, 2015 I had retinal detachment in the right eye in two places.
Under went emergency laser surgery and recovering.
The doctor told me when I had the flashes over a year ago I should have come in asap!
I did not know anything about CSR and TRT until I seen it in the forum this week.
I have ben on TRT before but discontinued due to some other issues but never had any eye problems until lately.
Calling my doctor today to discuss CSR and TRT therapy.

When you contact your doctor to review this issue, be well prepared. In my own experience, I have had to bring doctors up to speed on the TRT angle. All the best!

Smokin Joe, were you sensitive to light? Was your estrogen high coz I am. Did you have flashes all the time or once in a while?

ipi over the last month especially I have become sensitive to light in both eyes.
As far as flashes go I only had them for a couple of days about a year ago and then they disappeared.
Now since the retinal detachment I have them in the lower quadrant of my right eye regularly.
Had it rechecked after surgery and the doc said no worries at this point.
I'll post this evening EDT the brief conversation that I had with my doc this morning about CSR and detachment.

I went to see my doctor, who happens to be an eye surgeon. He dilated me and took some 3d Pictures then looked inside the eye. He told me that I don't have a CSR and have something that has to do with migraine (OCULAR MIGRAINE), that has flashing followed by a headache. So he asked me to see a neurologist because of my high Prolactin values.. But he was not worried. I explained the TRT and CSR relationship and he told me that the recent high sensitivity to light may be cause of my TRT (May be high E2 which I have not addressed yet).

So I will do that and repeat prolactin blood work. Now I am struggling with very low Ferratin, High Estrogen, high BP and high H & H.....The catch 22 ......

I don't want this to fail, people around me still tell me that I could have fixed my low T issues by eliminating the root cause, but what was it? Now I see high prolactin, but did it go abnormal with TRT or was it like this before?

ipi that is interesting.
As far as my condition I spoke with my doctor today and he is a retina specialist.
He says that there is always a possibility that prescribed medicines can cause these symptoms,
The example that he gave was certain antibiotics can stress the eyes in this way.
For testosterone replacement he says that there is no conclusive link to CSR and retinal problems.
No long term studies have been done and it could be years before any are even done.
As for me the early studies do lend themselves to a positive link between TRT and CSR.
The only sure way for me to know this to be true would be to discontinue TRT once again and see if the problems clears up.
I am not there yet but if things get any worse that is what I'll do.
Good luck and we'll be looking to hear what your outcome wiil be.

I don't know what to do, my testicles shrunk even after HCG three times a week. AI is not my last hope butttttt what should I do about other things?

ipi do you have any problems with hematocrit or hemoglobin . No question mark key.
If not I would load up on high iron vegetables suck as kale-spinach and broccoli.
Beef and chicken livers if you care for them.
As far as your high e-2 I would consider 30mg og zinc and DIM daily. I also use stinging nettle.
A little magnesium goes along way for BP but I'd check to be sure there is no conflict if you are on BP meds.

My hemoglobin and hemotracit are on the higher range and hemotracit crossed the upper limit so I had to donate blood once after 5 weeks of starting TRT. Now I am on a more frequent and a lower dose.

You mean should I take anastrazole (AI) for high estrogen? Have you?

Vitamin C, Have you tried it? What issues did it tackle for you or in what way was it useful, did you have issues?

I have been able to manage my e-2 in the past with zinc and DIM which I am back on as my e-2 has risen to 30.
I know that's not high in comparison but it is for me. Normally around 13-18 and I like it there.
Worked well for me.
What works for one may not for another but it's always worth a try.
Good luck.
Vitamin C I will try the Astaxanthin as anything natural is always the best place to start.
