SoCalSurfer Blood Test Question

Hi,
Love the site and information. Getting your book tomorrow. :-)
I have now been on TRT for 3 months, my levels we below 200. At first it was .5cc once a week but I noticed after a few weeks that there was a huge drop-off in how I was feeling a few days before I was due for my next shot. I was tired, loss of focus, no libido, I had heard about twice a week shots, so I talked with my doc and he was ok with it. I now don't have the huge drop-off like I did before taking .25cc twice a week. Sun morning and Wed night.

I am going back for a follow up with my doc at the beginning of Nov. when would be the best time to get blood drawn? After a shot, in between shots or day that I am due to take a shot?

I have also asked him to test my E2 as there are still ED issues and he has not checked E2 levels in my past workup.

Hi SoCalSurfer - Welcome to the new ExcelMale.com website and forum!

Good question.

For men on twice weekly injections Testosterone serum levels are going to be pretty consistent relative to once weekly. Therefore, timing of getting blood pulled is less of a concern.

That being said, I like getting blood pulled on the day where I am injecting in the evening. In other words, I inject Monday AM and Thursday PM. I like to get blood pulled on Thursday afternoon.

When you get your E2 tested please make sure they use the "sensitive" lab designed for men...this is very important as the standard E2 lab designed for women can over estimate your serum levels.
