When to test for elevated E2

Hey guys. I've had my second shot of T cyp a few days ago. After the first shot I started feeling a lot bette and had a huge increase in spontaneous erections etc.

After this shot I haven't noticed as much and there is some slight sensitivity in my nipples. Is it possible that E2 could have already elevated? I'm not knowledgeable about how fast things can change.

My first blood work isn't for another six weeks so I am wondering if I should talk to my doctor about testing E2 earlier than that in case I need to get something to bring the levels back down.

Thank you for any advice.

Nipple sensitivity is normal when starting TRT and just means your receptors are being activated.

Elevated E2 takes a while to happen on TRT and in most men on TRT dosages is a rare event.

Relax...your therapy is working:)

Whew! Thanks for the response! I've been to the doc so much lately trying to get everything squared away it is like a second job. Good to know this is just a speedbump.

You're going to have to ride things out for these 6 weeks unless you ever feel like you're in some kind of distress such as bad night sweats or itchy nipples, anything you find intolerable for more than a day or two. tell your Dr about it when you see him next, keep it in your chart.

So the first two months are sort of the rough period?

So far it hasn't been too bad. The sensitive nips was one thing. The other thing is that before TRT my temperature was always right around 96 degrees. It has since come up to a normal 98.4 or so and I feel a bit flushed and hot sometimes. I've also noticed a slightly increased heart rate but I've heard that passes as well. BP jumped after the first shot but that normalized in a few days.

Strength and energy were nicely and my mood has really improved. Had a bit of trouble falling asleep some nights as I just had issues relaxing but that is also getting much better.

Oh and the nurse jamming that 22g 1.5" needle in my ass and plunging like she is setting off dynamite has left me limping both times.

I've decided to go ahead and do my own dosing and split it twice a week using the 27g needle. If they give me trouble I think I will just stop and look into another provider. Having to drive an hour to get stabbed every week when I feel I could do much better is ridiculous.

oh no you're in for a journey, there's going to be a lot of time while you're body adjusts to the hormone(s), lot's of blood tests, dosing changes, more body adjusting...weeks and months. You just had your second shot a week ago...you're going to crash out in about a week from the honeymoon period. You're body is about to stop making it's own T and you're going to feel like shit. How you feel NOW isn't going to last...not to be a debbie downer, it's just reality. Right now you have your endo T and the exo T together...soon you'll only have the exogenous T...it gets darker before it gets better.

Stay connected on this forum.......keep monitoring all your levels every 6 weeks for the first year. Everyone responds and absorbs T differently. Yours will be unique to you. I'm finally hitting it great right now at week 26, it's awesome, there were some "wonder weeks" in between though......Wondering what the hell is going on, ankles swelling, on set of acne, sluggish and lethargic, Estradiol at 60 for server weeks. Good news now, I'm feeling awesome, they gym is great, libido is great etc. I like your idea of going on your own with twice weekly injections. That has been my best adjustment to my protocol. I was trying to get away with once a week, but twice a week has made all the difference in the world for me.

Thanks guys. That's gives me some hope things will get better. I'm the type of person that hates to take anything so it took a lot to take this leap.

I felt so bad it was starting to affect my marriage which is the only reason I decided to give this a shot. My TT was just over 300 and my free was 8.

The problem is there are too many horror stories out there so I keep second guessing my choice to try and fix it through medication.

I tried literally every single natural way that supposedly raises T levels and none of it did squat.

Just takes a bit of time to get dialed and and for your body to reach homeostasis..but it will happen if you are being cared for by a Physician who is well trained in TRT for men...can't stress that one enough.

You're doing twice weekly injections is smart and better for you.

Keep an eye on estrogen and make sure you get the sensitive assay.

There is a ton of information on this site for you to learn and as you learn you will become much more comfortable managing you protocol with control.
