You probably went threw a vein I've done that once you learn to avoid those locationsI inject into into my quad, I aspirated and have not got any blood in my syringe. I have either gone through a vein or nicked a vein, because sometimes even after aspirating when I pull the needle out blood comes gushing out.
I have never aspirated in 27+ years. When I used to inject more than 1 cc in my glutes (cycle) I had that horrible cough (anaphylaxis) for 5 min probably 4 or 5 times in 20 years. Since I switched to shallow IM with 27 gauge 1/2 inch on delts I have not had one single episode.

Nelson, a couple of times when I've done my injections I've gotten very nauseous and starting coughing for about 5 minutes. I thought I came from getting a good whiff of the alcohol swab I put in my leg. Is it possible it was Anaphylaxis????
