Needle Length - Is 5/16" Long Enough?

For more than a year now I've been using 28g 1/2" needles. Recently, I've been using 30g 1/2" needles and like the smaller gauge, mainly because I rarely get any leakage of oil from the injection site when using them.

Lately, I've thought about going to 30g 5/16" needles.

I inject SubQ in the VG area. Assuming I go more or less straight in with a 5/16" (8mm) needle, would it be long enough for effective SubQ? I do pinch the skin and inject into the pinch when injecting SubQ FWIW.

I honestly know nothing about skin thickness, etc and I guess I'm not sure at what depth things go from subcutaneous fat to intradermal if an injection is too shallow, etc.

I am quite skinny and use 30g 5/16" Sub Q absolutely no problem.

Over glutes, abdomen and love handles.

I don't inject "into pinch" but do inject into pulled up skin close to where I pinch to pull it up.

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
