Issues with Nebido

Hi guys!
I’ve been on Nebido for about a year now, my testosterone levels are within normal ranges for me (I’m 28) however my moods since being on Nebido have been awful, I’ve felt low, anxious & zero confidence. It’s almost as if I’m not on testosterone.

My latest blood results have came back as follows, (this is a few weeks after injection so testosterone is elevated slightly)

FSH
1.5 - 12.4 R
<0.3
IU/L

LH
1.7 - 8.6 R
<0.3
IU/L

OESTRADIOL
41.4 - 159 R
260
pmol/L

TESTOSTERONE
8.64 - 29 R
33.3
nmol/L

FREE TESTOSTERONE - CALC.
0.2 - 0.62 R
0.975
nmol/L

PROLACTIN
86 - 324 R
358
mIU/L

Can anything be triggering my low moods? My GP & endocrinologist hasn’t been concerned about my oestrogen but surely that’s too high?

I’m still learning so thank you for any advice

The standard injection interval might cause too much hormonal fluctuations, i.e. splitting the dose in more frequent injections results in more stable hormone values, stable normal mood etc.

That would make more sense I suppose, is this something that can be done with Nebido or would I have to go onto something else?

You're overmedicated. Good luck staying in that optimal range your body requires on Nebido unless you dose every week to every two weeks week to keep your hormones in a particular range your body responds best to..

I wouldn't expect any cooperation from your doctors.

They have no education or training in male sex hormones let alone managing male hormone therapies. They are operating outside their scope of medicine.

That's what I do and I am happy with it. Far less injections needed than with TE or TC. Once per week TU is like everyday TE or TC wrt min max T levels.
Some men inject every 4 weeks, or less, and are happy with it too.

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
