Is This Too Much?

Hey Guys,
I am just starting HRT and my Dr. prescribed me:
-200mg Testosterone (injected once a week)
-HCG 500IU (three times per week)
-Anastrozole (1mg every other day)
What do you think of this protocol for starting out? I had some issues/questions…
-I thought twice a week Test injections are better, am Iright?
-Is 500IU three times per week too much? I was thinking more along the lines of250-300IU two or three times per week.
-The Anastrozole seems way too high. I was thinking of .25mg twice a week would bemore appropriate.
What is everyone’s thoughts? Thank you in advance!

testosterone and anastrozole dose seems too high. i don't know about hcg but 1000-1500ius sounds ok
you would actually see on bloodwork if your total and free will be alright.. some folks get supraphysiological T values from 200mg weekly

Way too much anastrazole. Too much Test (IMO). Even the hcg seems a bit high. How old are you and do you care about fertility? I'd start with 50mg T cyp twice weekly. 250iu of hcg three times per week. And no anastrazole until labs at 6 weeks. This is JMHO based on 21/2 years of being on TRT.

That dosage is way too high. Sounds like a dosage an ex juicehead would prescribe. Also, what kind of idiot doctor would prescribe arimidex without even waiting for you to get blood results after at least 6 weeks of being on T. Is he a fortune teller ??

honestly I would start without any anastrozole and lower my t dose so I don't need an AI.. that would be your safest bet because crashed e2 will make you feel much worse then any low t. if you would use 100mg weekly and your hcg for example chances are you won't need any AI and your T levels will be pretty good (you would have probably the highest level that you would be able to achieve naturally if you would be perfectly heatlhy with good regimen).. 200mg will probably push your e2 a little bit too high but it usually takes time at least few weeks.. you may need adex but not from day 1 many doctors write prescription for AI from day one and crash their patient e2 this way.. you should start without AI and retest in 3-4 weeks and then based on labwork decide if you actually need one.. it takes few weeks even with 200mg to get into too high e2
usually guys who have crashed their e2 start AI from day one because their aromatase never had a chance to actually aromatase test into e2 since it was pretty much blocked from the beginning and that pretty often leads to too low e2 that takes a while to fix for some folkks

This protocol looks like a way to sell the most drugs possible, unless you are a hypermabilizer it's way too much. Never heard of anyone taking an AI EOD.

I think your starting dose of T, HCG and AI all are too high.
When I started TRT my protocol was 70mg of T cyp 500iu of HCG no AI every 3 1/2 days.

I am 31 and really don't care about fertility. I do care about testicular shrinkage and keeping myself healthy. I really appreciate your input, thank you!

Could those numbers be contributing factors to ED or arethey too good to cause that problem?

My T was in the dirt 215, and I was started out at 200mg as well. As Nelson and others have said that seems to be the upper limit. Your first test at those doses should be interesting. I've now gone to 75mg twice per week. As others have said, you will need a lot of testing before you nail the right doses for you. There is a ton on here about AI, most say not to take it at all until you know your numbers. My doc prescribed it from the get go. .5 twice per week. I got off of it after reading here. I was mid 60's last test, but a ratio of .22 to total T, I got on a .25 mg dose twice per week.

Those are pretty good numbers, naturally.

I take 500iu's of hGC every other day but that's what works for me. My E2 is 33 right now and I don't take an AI. I adjusted my own dosage by running my own bloods. When I was on injections, my doc prescribed 200mg's a week and I was take 60mg's twice a week (120mg's a week). He didn't know i lowered my dosage.

What I would do is take 100mg's with hCG (250 EOD) and see how you like it. Start titrating your dosage up or down with blood work after 6 weeks. Run your own bloodwork. Don't tell your doc you're using less so you could stockpile your meds. I'm on Androgel now but I still have bottles of test C laying around.

Well you're wrong on quite a few points here, 200mg/wk is not a steroid cycle, that's pretty ignorant statement on your part. And second, just about every "idiot" Dr that frequent this forum prescribe Anastrozole so there's more igorance on your part. I get that you want to sound smart here but it's not working.

I would really value your opinion on my situation. What do you think of my original blood work numbers, do you think they could be the cause of my ED? Also, what would you suggest one start at with HCG and AI dosages? Thank you very much!

Let me ask a question, is independent bloodwork, like with DefyMedical, available to you? If it is, I would do that, if not, like if you live in NYC, then I wouldn't. You'll need bloodwork to do this. You'll have to titrate your own dosage and you'll need blood work to do it.

You also have a great resource with this board. You can post your blood work here and people can help critique it. Get CBC's, metabolic panels, E2 and total and free test while you are adjusting your dosage.

It's Doctor O. He gives his patients 1 bottle a month (writes the script at 500mg's a week but tells us to take 200mg's a week). I was hitting 1440 Total T level at 160 so I cut it down to 120 and didn't tell him. He also prescribes 1 box of HCG a month so I have a ton of it stockpiled.

I do the same thing. I'm prescribed 200mg/week and I take 100mg/week and stockpile the extra. Right now I have 4 full bottles of T cyp.
