Good first Trimix experience, but questions remain . . .

Update, tried 13 units a couple of days ago; same 8.5 max erection as when I tried 11 previously. Went away in 3 hours. But disturbingly, I note that unless the physical stimulation is constant, it starts to lose pressure and soften to a 7.5 or 7. I had the same problem with Viagra. Could that be a "venous" leak? It feels kind of like when you're pumping up a tire, but you just have to keep pumping if there's a leak somewhere . . . you never catch up.

So I thought maybe I just need more Trimix, after all I'd sure like to try to have that 9.5 hard-on. So I took 16 units today. However, I still got the same 8.5 erection as at 11-13 units, maybe not quite as inclined to soften without stimulation, but still softens some. But, this time I noticed that it wasn't going away after a few hours. This time it stayed for FIVE hours at about a 6.5 level, certainly not bendable and probably qualifying for some concern. I used ice, walked the stairways and took a couple of Sudafed and it finally abated, whew!

So I think my safe limit is 11-14 units which will give me a decent 8.5/10 erection, but not "hang your towel on it". Does anybody have some thoughts about this softening issue that happens unless I'm working it hard? I've read a penis ring may help? Anybody been there?

Keep in mind depending on the degree of ED (mild, moderate or severe) and overall vasular/endothelial dysfunction let alone if one suffers from Venous leak some men will never achieve those bone drilling erections no matter how high a dose of ICI medication is used.

Unfortunately men with severe ED end up needing a penile prothesis.

The majority of men suffering from moderate-severe ED would be ecstatic hitting a 6-8.

* 10-point rigidity scale (where 0 = completely flaccid and 10 = fully rigid, with 6 being adequate for vaginal penetration) or a 4-point scale such as the Erectile Hardness Score

Professor Eric Allaire

What are the signs of venous leakage?

There are 4 signs:

* first one is absence or very weak erections in the morning

* the second sign is that during self- stimulation the hardness of the erection is not very high

* the third sign is that erections are not the same whether one is lying on his back or on his belly or on one side or being seated, if erections vary according to man's position, this is highly evocative of caverno-venous leakage

* the fourth sign is that when man applies fingers at the basis of penis erections are better, fingers press on veins and reduce leakages

I thought I'd update my story thus far. After trying the 16 units and realizing that the effect was much like what I was getting when I took only 8 units (except for the extended duration), I started to feel my success with the Trimix would not be dose dependent. It did feel very much like a venous leak that I had read about. I also read that pressure at the base of the penis in the form of a penis ring could help. I didn't have a ring, so I tried tying if off with a boot lace. Success! On only 10 units my erection was harder and lasted longer reaching an 8 1/2 out of 10. Then, thinking that I might even do well on a lower dose, I tried 7 1/2 units and scored a 9/10 erection, also filling the head better which had been lacking before. I've read that one shouldn't use a string of any sort to tie off the base, so I've ordered some silicone rings from Amazon.

I saw my urologist today and conveyed this story. He didn't think I had a "leak" per se, but believed that I simply wasn't getting a hard enough erection to cut off the blood supply from escaping; ie the corpus cavernosa, when fully engorged, normally puts pressure on certain veins which trap the blood and maintain the erection. He said that I could take a bigger and stronger dose of Trimix that would likely work without a penis ring, but that would entail more side effects and more expense. He suggested I stick with my current low Trimix dose coupled with the penis ring. Makes sense to me . . .
