Free Testosterone

Is there anything in you're body that can cause you to have low free testosterone levels when you're total testosterone level is good besides E2 and SHBG? My total T is either 600 or mid 700's most of the time but my free T is always on the low side of normal for some reason.

SHBG is THE foundation of what youre asking. As long as your settling for a trough of 6-700 you're Free T is going to consequently fall in line somewhere. I'm not aware of anything other than SHBG impacting your Free T levels.

It would be nice to see your free testosterone and rangers, usually free T range from 1% to 4% of the total T.

My first test which was in Jan of 2017:
Total Testosterone:623ng/dl (250-1100)
Free Testosterone:73.5pg/ml (46-224)
Testosterone,Bioavailable:154.3 (110-575)
SHBG:40 (10-50)
Estradiol:36 (<or=39) Also had my estradiol measured at 30 before.
T3 total: 72 (76-181)

My test in August of 2017:
Total Testosterone: 730ng/dl (250-1100)
Free Testosterone: 77pg/ml (46-224)
SHBG: 47 (10-50)

Also I am not on any TRT and I'm 25 years old. Just trying to figure out why my free Testosterone seems a little low because I have a feeling that is what is causing my symptoms.

AS I knew it would be, your SHBG is too high, the Testosterone that you do have is bound up and unusable. Guys with high(er) SHBG like you have to run much higher Totals in order to compensate and get the Free T to move. You're never going to get there with a 700 total, you'll probably need upwards of a 1000 TT with tweaking from there. That's the only way to work around high SHBG and low Free T.

No, high SHBG can cause low free testosterone levels

Your Thyroid tests if it's only T3 are woefully inadequate to answer such a question, obviously its low but that's just a snapshot of one factor when there are 5 Thyroid areas you need tested at the same time:

TSH
T3
T4
Free T3
Reverse T3
Antibodies

I would also pull iron serum, ferritin, TIBC as some iron deficiencies can affect T3 entering the cells.

I had three thyroid test done actually. TSH was very good and so was free T4. The only one that came back low was total T3. I hear some people say that if you're free T3 is off it can also throw off and lower you're free testosterone. Maybe thats why my free testosterone is on the low end of normal. I'm really hoping its a quick fix with my thyroid because I don't want to go on TRT at age 25. I would rather take thyroid medication than have to take testosterone every week at 25.
