Flinching or Spasms During Injection

I've been getting injections every two weeks in the butt cheeks for 21 months now (rotating cheeks). Very occasionally I'd experience what I call a muscle spasm right when the needle would go in. In the last few months, it is becoming more frequent - not every time, but maybe every other. Today it was a few flinches, rather than one larger spasm like before.

Do you think this is from scar tissue? If so, I'm sure the answer is to move the site around, yes?

It's quite painful when it happens, and now is giving me angst about getting the injection at all. Note, that it's the nurse or assistants doing these injections, not me.

Thanks for any thoughts,
Pete

Pete, Hi bubby I hope you are doing well :) The only thing I can think of, are you taking all the weight off your foot on the injection side, when they are giving you a shot.

I think almost everyone here self injects twice weekly, it keeps your testosterone levels nice and even. No spikes. I wouldn't worry about scar tissue.
I personally think the best way to inject is the Nelson method. Please watch the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uXoBb6mkys

Vince my friend! Didn't know you were out here - thanks for the reply! So yes, I do try to take all the weight off my foot, but I may have gotten a little lazy with this, so thanks for the reminder...I will pay better attention.

And yes, I know pretty much everyone here injects much more frequently than I. Here's the deal Vince - I am near needle phobic. Not like I go into shock or anything, but the angst is nearly debilitating - I cannot even look at syringes in the doctor's or even my vet's office! I'm sure many here would think of this as just totally wimpy, but for me, it's real. Vince you know how much you and me test for our other conditions - every one of those blood draws are near excruciating for me. But my pain is greater than my fear, so I force myself to at least get the shots, and give the blood. But by myself? - it 'ain't happenin' my friend. That's why I go to the great inconvenience of driving to my doctor's office every two weeks. I do experience a bit of the roller coaster effect, but not all that bad. I'm on a pretty small dose of cypionate, 150mg every two weeks, but the benefits are pretty remarkable...I don't want to give those up.

Anyway, that's my story. I tried watching the video. Got to near the end, and then out came the syringes...I tell you I get light-headed. I know what this stems from - trying to inject my frail Mom with morphine in her last days of cancer pain. Nightmares still.

I know that's way TMI Vince - guess I was just excited and happy about finding you here!

Pete
