Does long term TRT use cause thyroid issues?

I'm curious how many TRT recipients on these forms also have thyroid issues. It seems that many people I know who are on TRT are also on thyroid medication, I'm wondering if the two are related. Does TRT eventually lead to thyroid issues?
 
Elevated testosterone does increase your thyroid requirements. Some people’s keep up just fine. Others do not. TRT can also lower cortisol in some, which is required in small amounts for proper thyroid function.
 
In my case, I was diagnosed as having Hashimoto's a few years before trying any TRT. I have slightly increased my Synthroid dosage over time but not by much.
