So im 31 and I went to my doc with alot of symptoms and she did a blood test and just tested for test level (total test 203.0) and referred me to someone who would treat it and he prescribed Test Cypionate at 200mg/every other week and nothing else for 3 months. I dont think I've seen anyone on here that was told to just take Test alone. He doesn't seem like he would take me self advocating very well either as he said we dont know much about test treatment...people will say they do but really they dont........i dont know what to do as I dont want symptoms to get worse. Any advice?

That is where I started. Still take just test cyp. Works for me. Learn to inject yourself, move to once per week or more often. Check your E2 levels. You don't need to have T level in the trough of 1000+ to feel better.

I would learn how to do the injections myself, quickly, if I were you like many on the forum have done so you can start injecting yourself. 200 mg once every two weeks is going to have you feeling good for four to five days as all your levels spike and then as they begin falling you will start feeling bad and the 2nd week you will likely feel the crash coming on strong. You will have huge peaks and valleys. It has been proven that protocol for most people is a failure.

100 mg a week is a good starting point and best if broken down into multiple injections unless you have very high SHBG. Did you doctor test for SHBG? Surely he did because that is the cornerstone of all TRT protocols. That will determine what type of injection schedule you should be on and help determine, along with other factors, what type of dose to start off with.

What is your SHBG?

Nor my Endo or my PCP has ever tested SHBG. I have been checking my T and Free T monthly (sometimes Estradiol) using discounted labs while on clomid. I do have LH, FSH, prolacting, and thyroid labs which were all in normal ranges. Shall I order a SHBG lab now prior to injections and being off clomid a week?

Normal ranges are everyone else within the population, it doesn't mean anything in relation to you. You can have thyroid problems even with labs in range, it takes a skilled doctor to recognize a problem. Countless men will not feel well with Free T3 low normal or in the normal ranges.

Please post thyroid labs.

TSH is thyroid stimulating hormone, it stimulates the thyroid gland to produce thyroid hormones, it's not thyroid hormones. Free T3, Free T4 and Reverse T3 are thyroid hormones, it doesn't look like you have ever had thyroid hormones tested.

6-22-17 There are tests for t3, t4. Looks like these are the only ones. All other tests were just TSH.

Clomid usually increasea SHBG. So if I were you I would wait. Tamoxifen (also a SERM) increased my SHBG from low 20s to low mid 30s. Clomid half life is very long so I would wait a couple of months before testing

So I already picked up the 200mg t cypionate at the pharmacy and supposed to go into the doctors office for the first 200mg injection, then come back in 2 weeks for another. The vials are NOT rubberized on the top. I have the option of my cousin (ER Nurse) doing my injections till i'm comfortable...without the vials being rubberized on top though, I assume I cannot do just .5mL and save the rest for next week, correct?

No SHBG was ever tested by endo or PCP.

It means they don't know how to help you, I'm sure they are doing their best with limited knowledge. There aren't many men who can even handle 200mg in a weeks timespan, problems are expected and you go into this journey knowingly.

I cant have any increased anxiety and thats what scares me about the 200mg dose. Seems that some people feel great after and some have higher anxiety. Feeling the peaks and the lows are normal for me on the ride i'm already on, just scared of having to pop xanax again.

The first few self injections are stressful if you are anxious about it, but if I can do it, so can you. Watch some youtube videos. Sit on the side of the bed, use a small needle and try subQ or the thigh. Have your cousin there to help the first few times. Be positioned so if you faint you just fall back into bed (so really no big deal). Lie down after the shot. After a few injections it will be like shaving or brushing teeth and you will have much more control over your treatment with TRT, and feel more in control. Again, if I can give myself a shot, anyone can. Some people also put on music or have the TV on as a distraction.

Thanks for the info, those are great recommendations. I had my first 100mg injection this morning at 9am. My dr office provides injections, syringes, and the time it takes for free which I found out this morning. I also told them I want 100mg weekly instead of 200mg every two weeks and they said ok and only used .5mL of the first vial. The location is 1/3 mile from my work and 1/2 mile from my home so I may use that service as long as I can. I barely felt the injection (left butt cheek) and no pressure at all so I am happy for now.

Forget sub Q until you have some experience. Use the thigh on the side of your dominant hand and enter at a right angle with a 27 gauge needle. No big deal. Over in less than 15 seconds. Quad has few nerves there.

Some reason I think i've seen several guys say to stay away from the thigh but my dr office did thigh last time and I didnt even feel it with 25g. If I self administer I think the thigh would be my first choice at this point.

Thigh is my favorite place. I have been injecting shallow IM there using a 28G 0.5 inche insulin pin for a couple of years. Works great

When you guys say "thigh" are you talking about the top of the thigh when sitting down, the vastus intermedius (middle quad) or the outer thigh or quad, the vastus lateralis?

I use the outer thigh or quad, vastus lateralis, on occasion and itis the only place i get sore at a day after the injection. It is not painful but definitely sore. I don't get any type of pain or soreness when injection in the deltoid or VG.

Vastus lateralis for me. Make sure you relax the muscles and inject slowly. It rarely gets sore.

When I inject IM in the thigh, I separated each thigh into a top, middle, and bottom location. I would rotate between leg and location. I looked at diagrams of the muscles in the thigh and then I would flex, see the muscle at each location, watch as it moved when I relaxed, and then inject in those area. I never had any issues. IMO, soreness can be the result of injecting too fast and not holding needle very steady.

I am always sitting down with leg outstretched when injecting there and feel like I am injecting slowly. The same pace I inject everywhere else.
