Just was wondering is Clomid about the Same as HCG for the time being my Doctor has switched me to clomid since HCG is on national back order. Any advice on Clomid would be great thanks

Good post, as my Dr has taken me off HCG after 15yrs of fantastic regimen and replaced it with 5mg weekly Clomid. HCG restored my testicular size and also I believe had a role in sexual activity related to orgasm. I have read about this in a couple of forums on this site.

Never had an issue with Estrogen. Im considering going out on my own, maybe Defy Medical to resume the HCG. Any comments, suggestions would be appreciated.

In my observation, it is sufficiently rare for someone to be well-dialed-in that when you are, changing something major is a horrible idea. It's especially horrible since your body is adjusted to your prior protocol and there is no assurance that if you change and then switch back, that you can get back to the good place you are. Of all the aspects of self-managing hormones, sexual function seems to be the most difficult to optimize which makes it doubly questionable to make a major change, especially one that won't "settle in" for months. Also, 5mg per week sounds very low, even for me and I'm a micro-doser. It doesn't sound like your doctor is using good risk/reward logic.

Thank you for your response.............I have encountered resistance from other providers when I was forced to change medical groups due to insurance, which is what happened here as the medical group was bought out.

The operative question was is any precautions I should have about going against my Dr's orders?
