Blood work, initial

Hello,

Just wanted to see if anyone wanted to chime in on my blood work before I work with Defy.

Last 2 years or so very tired, bloated, no libido, hair thinning and drying, face changes, facial hair grows incredibly slow, muscle mass loss etc etc. My test levels when I approached my Primary Care Doctor were below 300.. Primary care doctor has no interest in even sending me to an endocrinologist. Hence, began to work with Defy. Here is the results of the first blood workup. Blood was taken at 8:00am, fasting. Also, my IGF-1 was high, now my mind is running.

Based on those numbers you are definitely a candidate for t therapy but, since you are with Defy, I would ask them for a full thyroid panel along with other testing just to make sure its not a thyroid problem contributing to your symptoms..... If I remember correctly, *****'s total testosterone was at 457 or something like that so, sometimes its not low T causing symptoms. Here is a great explanation on how both low thyroid and low T are related: Thyroid Symptoms in Men + How Low Thyroid Causes Low Testosterone

Your T4 is only 1 part of the puzzle and your are missing the most important thyroid hormone Free T3 and Reverse T3. I would run the full thyroid panel as recommended by Dr. Childs just to rule it out. Good luck...

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
