My urologist was going over my meds. I told him I was taking 2.5mg Cialis a day. He asked if I was using a compounding pharmacy, and I told him "No, I just split the 20's that you prescribed me way back when." Then he said 'Why don't you just take 20mg a day?" I said I thought 5 or 10 was the daily recommended dose for sexual health. He said that changed and that now the medical world has decided you can just take 20 a day (if your body can handle it).

Is he insane?

The trials were limited in the beginning, similar to T-cypionate labeling saying"for intramuscular injection only", never having tried it any other way.

You can even take Viagra and Cialis together.

I am up to 7.5mg per day with good results, taking it before bed. I have been gradually increasing the dosage over the years. I need way less Viagra for similar results. For some reason, my body doesn't metabolize the Cialis as easily. I am 56...

Not necessarily insane, but I have found thru experimentation that higher single doses are less effective for me, so I wouldn't assume that more is always better. For example ( and this is purely speculation as a thought experiment) the body has feedback loops to regulate many things, so if you were artificially increasing NO2 via cialis the body might down-regulate its production of NO2 to compensate, or it might upregulate the enzyme that cialis blocks.. I have no idea if that is possible, but I try to go with minimum effective dose with almost everything, which therefore gives you room to increase the dose eventually if necessary.

Dose as high as 40 mg (20 mg twice daily) have been used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH, high blood pressure in your lungs).

There may be some merit to using higher doses when it comes to treating other cardiovascular issues but more high quality studies are needed.

I would tread lightly when it comes to the more is better mentality especially when it comes to ED/cardiovascular health.

You would be pissing your money away.

If you can handles the sides let alone have a dirt cheap source then go nuts.

Even then 10 mg daily would be overkill for most.

*the efficacy and tolerability of 5 mg tadalafil taken daily appear to be comparable to the efficacy and tolerability of 20 mg taken on-demand or every other day. Further studies that address this comparison could be useful for clinicians

10mg is the sweet spot for me. cialis due to half life levels at 1.6x when taken daily. so you look at a steady level of 32mg when taken daily vs if you would take then once. pretty high. i used to get bad s/x, back pain, sinus issues, but they got much milder. i take 10mg 2-3x a week now

I like the concept of taking the least amount of medicine necessary to get the benefits so if it’s working for you I wouldn’t change. Does it help?

I was taking 20mg of Cialis a day for months with no adverse affects. My doctor informed me that I wasn't supposed to take it every day, so now I only take it EOD or when I feel like it. I take 20mg for BPH, not for EQ.

No one has mentioned the Alzheimer's/Dementia preventative aspect of Tadalafil. Further I believe the FDA (not that I highly trust them) has approved up to 60mg daily for pulmonary hypertension. I strongly doubt that the production of NO is a straight closed loop feedback system like HRT/Thyroid replacement. Or why would a partial Viagra dose be so effective layered over Tadalafil, Yohimbine HCL, etc. If a person were to find a reliable UGL source for 60mg tabs, chop them in half, and try a daily therapy of 30mg daily on the cheap it's entirely possible the body wide increased NO production benefits would be way worth the trouble ED issues entirely aside. This is assuming the individual experienced no significant sides at that dose. Just saying it'd be easy if a person wanted to try it. :)

I’m not an MD, so take what I say in that light. When you say “sexual health”, do you or he mean ED or BPH? All I know is that if I take 10mg daily for more than 2-3 days in a row, I get godawful backaches. Can he give you a reference for 20mg/day dosage?
