With the insulin syringe there is actually less wasted than a 3cc or 1cc luer lock about .05cc because of the luer lock hub on the syringe.
My BD 1cc 30ga 1/2" insulin syringe has a flat plunger that meets with a flat surface is yours different?

I wouldn't recommend the the style on the right as the needle isn't that secure it's only pressed on and with the higher pressure from thicker oil it spells disaster
Great to know brother Just ordered some!You must have the luer lock 1cc otherwise you would not be able to change the needle I would recommend using 1cc insulin syringe like the one on the left in the picture.

I'm not a DR. and I wouldn't personally recommend this but some leave a small air bumble about .04cc worth in the syringe let it float to the plunger and inject leaving the .04cc of air left in the hub
