A bit frustrated right now after my first appointment...

So, I booked an appointment with Mens Health Boston. Went there. They took my bloodwork and I had a T count of 350 (found this out after a few days after the appointment).

When I met with the doctor, he didn't seem to be very interested in helping me out... I described my symptoms, how I felt, mentioned the book by Abraham Morgentaler, etc. He just sat down and said something along the lines of "Well, we'll see... even if you do get extra T, it will take at least 3 months for you to start seeing results..." This surprised me. Does it really take 3 months before I start seeing results with the gel/cream?

Also, I'm a bit surprised that he was so indifferent/uninterested in prescribing a Testosterone supplement. Am I missing something or could I have said/done something better in order to better get my message across?

In about two weeks I will have a second appointment and I'm curious what recommendations you have for me so that I could better get my message across?

Also, what are some online options to get reasonably (and safe) priced Testosterone gel/cream? If I go with this option, can insurance cover this (I'm expecting that this will not be the case)?

I felt the T gel almost immediately while having had total T of 150.
Wait for the second appointment when he has your lab values. They should have tested free testosterone. Probably they tested shbg and albumin from which one can calculate an estimate of free testosterone.
The full effects of TRT, basically the recovery from low T can take months and years but that's not a argument to not start TRT.

Tell us more about you. Your age, your health and you ever want to have children or are you done have kids. It's hard to remain fertile when you're on TRT

If you can find a urologist that takes your insurance and is testosterone friendly, what would be your best bet to get insurance to pay for the visit and the testosterone product.
If you felt that the doctor did not really "get you", don't go back. If you want to stay with telemedicine, DefyMedical.com is the way to go since they have over 15 years of experience. Dr. Saya there is very well known by ExcelMale members.

Early 40s, health is ok... a bit anxious due to things in life, I'm done with having kids. I just want to feel stronger and more vital.

Oh, ok. When you say recovery, what do you mean? How does this process look like?

Thanks.
