My potassium is 6.1. reference value 3.5-5.1
Sodium 140 reference value 136-145

My blood pressure is 120/70

Should i use a diuretic as Hydrochlorothiazide?

You need to find out why potassium is high and have a doctor run some tests on your kidneys.

The Hydrochlorothiazide will decrease your potassium levels, it drops mine too low after only a few doses and have to take it infrequently.

Hztz will lower you potasium, as well as raise your hba1c and on 20% cases lead to ED.

Why do you need a diuretic?

to reduce my potassium. I am using olmesartan 40mg and have read that it can increase potassium. So I thought of using olmesartan 20mg with 12.5 hydrochlorothiazide. What do you think Dr?
