Will FSH Help Low SHBG Patients?

I came across a recent journal article claiming that FSH stimulates production of SHBG by the liver. I cannot post the link to the article (since I'm new to this forum), but you can find it by Googling: Pubmed 28260206

I had always wondered why it is that everyone is so keen on supplementing/backfilling with an LH analogue, namely HCG, yet everybody seems to ignore the other gonadotropin that is suppressed by TRT, namely FSH. Certainly FSH has a secondary role when it comes to testosterone and sperm production. Now it seems FSH also has a role in maintaining SHBG. I wonder if guys struggling with low SHBG might benefit from its supplementation. I see that FSH is available on the formulary at Empower. Curious what other's thoughts might be, and if there is a recommended dosage.

To my knoweldge the problem with FSH is that it's horribly expensive, no one really talks about, for whatever reason which I take it to mean either it's to pricey or doesn't work (whatever that means).

Have you tried metformin?

Have you tried metformin?

I have been using Metformin for years to try to raise my SHBG and it has done nothing. I never had high glucose, ever in my life, but hoped that Metformin might help my low SHBG. It has not and when I look on other TRT forums I have never seen anyone with low SHBG raise theirs to a useful level with Metformin, either.

I would be curious to see if anyone with low SHBG has ever had any success with Metformin in terms of raising their SHBG levels by a useful amount. By that I mean, if you SHBG is 8 and you took "X" and it raised it to 10 - that's not really going to help.
