Can anyone hack these values and tell me how one can continue to have normal-high serum iron levels, occasional high % sat, low normal hct/hgb/rbcs and low normal ferritin? Not on TRT, negative for any internal bleeding.
I do seem to fit the description of "iron avidity" as described here, but the % sat are spikes and I do not have HH, although, I do carry one one mutation in the G36D HFE gene linked to hemochromatosis. Persons with one of these mutations (heterozygous) are not typically prone to higher levels of iron in the body, but this article says "might be at risk" of iron overload.
Thoughts?
